4 Non-Mar US Made Menda Nylon and Metal Spudger Pry Repair Tools to Open Laptop, Smartphone, Tablet and MP3 Cases

If you are going to do any type of cell phone and/or tablet repair these tools are a must have. They are thin enough to fit within the 'crack line' of the tablet so you can open it up with minimal risk of breaking anything. I opened a tablet once without using these tools. I totally wrecked the tablet! Scratches and broken clips. I learned the hard way.I bought these tools for only a few dollars and was able to repair two very different types of tablets in a fraction of the time I did without the tools and with no damage to the tablets. I didn't need to use every tool in the kit since each one has a specific use. They are made with a good strong plastic which does not bend or break easily. Also does not cause scratches on the case of the item you are working with.With these tools and the right video you can repair almost any type of tablet, I can't say enough about these except - buy these tools - you will not regret it.

I had to do some some repair work on my laptop; replacing a CMOS battery. Replacing a CMOS battery on a laptop is a very involved process, requiring the removal of practically every external screw, and then prying the wrist rest, mouse, keyboard, and associated cables off of the chassis. Spudgers are are very useful tools b/c they are made of plastic, so when you are prying the plastic bits off you are less likely to mar the nice finish like a screw driver would. Spudgers are also non-conductive, and so protect against Electro Static Discharge (ESD), stray static electricity that can kill your computer. These arrived via my Prime shipping and worked great, I recommend them.

They work fine, but as others have stated, they do take heavy damage easily. Also I did manage to put a small ding/cut in the frame of my tablet with one of the nylon ones, which I didn't think was possible. Maybe the best option out there, though.

I just wish I didn't need them. These tools helped replace the screen on my iPad 2 and after using inferior tools replacing the glass on an iPhone 4S (twice) and the glass on an iPhone 3G once, they really do make a huge difference. If you can avoid breaking your iDevices, that's obviously preferred. But if you find yourself needing to tear into your iThing, order these tools with the replacement parts and the job will be much more likely to be a success.

An excellent set of tools when I needed to replace the cooling fan on a Sony Vaio laptop. Sturdy, well-made. Accomplished everything I needed to do (opening the case, scraping off old thermal paste, prying, poking). Should also work on other small electronics, e.g., GPS's.

After receiving the items, the spudger metal tool is made up of limpy tin, your probably more likely to be cut by the aweful tool than use it to open anything, its not tempered, its not spring steel or anything, complete junk, I appreciate they put the name on it so I will remember not to purchase stuff from this seller again. The plastic tools are available from lots of places for a couple bux, im just new and they got me on this one, i made my own spudger from an old bandsaw blade and its great. I do not recommend these items.

Ordered these just needing something inexpensive and to get them quickly. Was not expecting much but these are not lowend feeling. I don't work on my devices every day so these will do what I need for a while I'm sure. Yeah once can also use odd bits from around the house like old credit cards and other assorted "tools" but for the price I figured better to have a dedicated set of tools for taking my toys apart.Now on to tackle taking apart my Samsung Note 8.0 to replace the digitizer/touch panel which broke when I dropped it and the beastie landed on the only exposed corner (where the S-Pen lives) shattering the panel...sigh...

I don't think that these tools were intended to last more than a few jobs. Specifically the spudgers. I took my laptop apart and they worked great, but they were shredding while I used them. The tools wore down noticeably during the one project. The metal spudger was nicer, but not necessary for my task.
