My bird ended up liking it even though they struggled to balance it at first. It does wear out eventually and it's a little difficult to clean. The length wasn't the best fit for my bird and it was hard finding a place to put it due to that. Didn't have a problem with the smell in the packaging

Looks nice. The rope is not white, it is brownish and 'hairier', like natural material rope, not the polished kind. I had no problem with the product or the rope used in it - I like it - however, my budgie was scared of it (surprise surprise!), and did not walk on it or peck at it, or engage with it any way. He did look at it confused for a bit, trying to calculate the purpose of such a strange object, nay - contraption - in his cage. After a few days novelty of it wore out, and he did not even look at it much, he just ignored it. After a couple of weeks I took it out of his cage. I did notice he pooped on the ladder, but I am not sure I can count that as a review of the product. Overall, there is nothing wrong with the product, but if you have a timid little bird who will bend over backwards to avoid a piece of banana being offered to him (or her), bringing this ladder into his cage might not be a milestone where he finally realizes that you are not trying to "get him". I was wondering what would happen if I took out some of the 'vital' perches and put the ladder instead.. I might try that. I try to change a set up in his cage often as to avoid him getting bored (although his cage door is open at all times and he could come out any time - he did a few times), so if he would build some courage I think that ladder would be a nice addition to the cage. It will take some work though.. Hope this helps!

I actually purchased this for my small rat and this is exactly what I was looking for! He loves to play and run and my goodness was he eager and excited to try it out! He immediately enjoyed running back and forth and leaping off of it onto his hammocks. Needless to say I’m very pleased with this product, not only is it well made and durable, it’s great enrichment for small little creatures too. My only suggestion (if you are using it for perhaps a little critter like myself) would be to twist the 2 pieces of rope individually that the silver clip is attached to, leaving no gaps in the exposed rope for any little toes or heads from accidentally getting stuck. Once you twist the pieces and attach them back onto the clip and then attach it to the cage, you don’t have to worry about it unraveling and your little critter is safer. Aside from that (which I maybe the only person out there who had this issue or concern due to higher energy critters but wanted to pass on just in case!) this is a great ‘toy’ for our loved ones!

First, before buying this, note that the size is off. The description says 20x3 inches. It is 15x2 1/2 inches. And this includes the strings to hang it by. The "real" length of the bridge is about 12 inches. It looks nice, once you get over the size difference. The hooks that are given are not sufficient to hang the product but a bit of twine from you will remedy this. Then you can re-use the two hooks for something else. The wood in this is hollow in the middle and as soft as dry pine. A medium bird like a gray, or a large bird like a macaw...this would not be a good toy. Too small, too unstable, too soft. For a parakeet, or a small conure, this would be ok. The price is ok.

Once you have properly cleaned your glass shower door and sides this does great! Does a great job. Still use a squeegee after showering. Comes right off

Great product and came on time

I bought this ladder a few weeks ago and my two budgies have not left it alone. Their cage is packed with toys and this is their favorite. They have a tall flight cage so I was able to extend the ladder horizontally and make a bridge. The Rope Ladder Bird Toy is well made and provides plenty of options for play activities.
