Purple Stuff Soda MD Cherry Cola, 16 oz., (Pack of 12)

First, the positive. All things considered, it has a fair taste to it. Most of the posts are dead on... it seems to taste more of cotton candy than cherry but I do taste a cherry flavor in it. I can't say that I would if I didn't already know it was supposed to be cherry, though. But the soda has a taste that I don't dislike.The negative: If you're a purple fanatic like me, "The Purple Stuff" just automatically brings to mind (at least for me) a purple beverage. Nope, this is almost clear with a yellow-orange-ish tint to it. While the flavor isn't terrible, it pretty much just tastes like cherry/sugar syrup with a little carbonation. Not what I'd call a "wow!" taste to it.Bottom line, it's ok... but not anything like what I expected when buying it.

My friend's Mom owns a convenience store and she would buy me Purple Stuff while it was available to her. I absolutely love it! It quit being available, and I didn't have it for years. Finally I decided to search on Amazon, and lo and behold it's here! My favorite was the Berry Calming flavor until I bought this one. This Cherry Cola flavor is a lot sweeter than say a Cherry Coke, but that's what I love! This has got to be the best drink I have ever tasted. I will say that I love things EXTREMELY sweet, so it may be "sickly sweet" (as my husband called it) for some people. It is a little expensive, but I buy these as a treat for myself. As far as the calming aspects, I do only drink them in the evening or when I'm home for the day. I don't know if they actually make me feel more calm, I just enjoy them as a soda.

I wish I looked at the nutrition facts before buying. First off, 10mg of Theanine is nothing, there's more in a cup of green tea and wasn't shown to have a calming effect in studies until dosages of 200mg or more. 20mg of Valerian is also nothing, most capsules come with a serving size of 1000mg. Rosehips have nothing to do with stress, they're just a source of vitamin C and look good on a can. I really felt nothing from this, but I'll give it 2 stars before I actually like the flavor even if it has no cola flavor to speak of, and tastes more like cotton candy than cherry.

I love this Purple Stuff. It's actually almost completely clear but it's a good, strong cherry cola taste. It contains small amounts of vitamins and herbs that really do give you a gentle boost in your energy and help you relax. I've been having a nice, icy cold one every afternoon and I really look forward to it. It's a lot pricier than regular soda but it's a bigger can than most, and it's actually good for your mood so I'm willing to pay a little more.

I bought the grape flavor before and was blown away by the good taste so I thought I would try this one. I was very disappointed. It has no cola flavor at all and reminds me of bad cough syrup. I wasn't looking to drink this for relaxation. I was actually using it as a soda alternative because the grape flavor really is that good. This is very sweet which is a positive for me but if you are looking for a cola flavor it's not here in this drink.

I really don't have a clue if it actually helps you relax/chill at all. I just really like the way it tastes, and enjoy it. Definitely might not be for everybody but I like and will continue to buy more. My only complaint is they're $1.66 each and you can't buy them by the case. I wish I could buy them by the case or in a larger quantity to help lower to cost per unit so to speak.

This is the most delicious Cherry Cola on Earth. It's tastes like liquid candy, but has half the calories of a typical soda. Of course diet soda has less, but it's full of chemicals and coloring. This is clear, without the fake brown coloring present in most Colas.

Tasty, relaxying, uses citric acid, not phosphoric acid (that is good IMHO). Has vitamins and herbs; if they work for you, buy it.Can substitute for a glass of wine, etc., perhaps, even, maybe, now and then.
