Skip this one in favor of other, better Julie James romances
I'm definitely a Julie James fan, so I was excited to read her debut novel, but I was a little disappointed. This one isn't as explicit as some of her other novels and lacks some of the heat. I liked the heroine, but the hero was a little too conceited for me. I was hoping that his arrogance was just a facade, and we'd get to meet the "real" Jason who was actually a good guy. But no, that was the real Jason. He's a player, a jerk to a lot of women, he plays a lot of mind games with Taylor (including getting her in trouble with her boss), and he is just flabbergasted that a woman could not want to date him. He only became a nice guy because Taylor was "different" than all the models and actresses, and she was the woman finally able to change him. Ugh, please. I also hated that Taylor sacrificed her job for him at the end.

Feisty, smart heroine
What drew me to this novel was the lawyer part - the character Taylor. The litigation aspect of the story was intelligent and very entertaining because of the personality Julie James crafted for this character. She not only thought like a lawyer in the courtroom, but in the other important aspects of her life, as well. She was innately considering all possible outcomes of her important interactions like those with Jason Andrews, megastar. You’ll love Jason’s character because the trappings of fame became so ingrained he actually couldn’t fathom someone not falling all over themselves to be with him especially when he really wanted someone who didn’t fall all over themselves to be with him.I loved the love story. Everything in the story somehow led us back to Jason and Taylor until they finally got it right.

she will not disappoint! Taylor Donovan
Another addicting book, when it comes to Julie James, she will not disappoint!Taylor Donovan, sexual harassment lawyer has moved to LA from Chicago for a $30 million trial that she is in charge of. Taylor loves her job and knows she good at it, she doesn't let people see her emotional side. Her second language is sarcasm and she uses it often! Taylor has been asked to go over a script for Hollywood actor Jason Andrews. Jason thinks the sun and moon rises with him and Taylor is not at all impressed. He is about to be taken down a level by one strong woman with lots of smarts and sass.Jason Andrews is Hollywoods "Sexiest Man Alive" and is used to getting his way, never being told NO and discarding women like a card game. Jason is amazed that Taylor isn't falling at his feet and makes her dislike of him obvious. He is attracted to her and sets out to make her it admit that she's really attracted to him as well. His plan of making her jealous backfires and she ends up dating another HOT Hollywood actor. These two actors can't stand one another and a "pissing" game ensues.Taylor learns over time that Jason isn't has bad as she once thought, without the camera's and all the hoopla associated with Hollywood, he's a nice guy. She can't let her heart get involved, she got burned once by a good looking cheater and survived it but she doubts she would this time. Jason finds out the hard way that Taylor doesn't trust him, he offers her his heart, will she take it and give him hers as well?

Just the Sexiest Man Alive - R
Just the Sexiest Man Alive - RViolence: noneLanguage: fewer than 170, including deity, and FBombs (under 35)Sex: there was an inordinate amount of references to blow jobs. Not sure what that was all about. Thankfully, no details; descriptive kissing; sex referenced, but no details at all.I loved this book! But I really do hate the language. I'm going to buy a copy and redact it which is a big deal for me to spend money on a paper book, haha. New writer for me--I'm looking for more by her. Well written!

Made Me Laugh
This was a re-read but it was as good as I remembered. I love the celebrity hero/normal heroine trope so it didn't surprise me that I enjoyed this book. I forgot how self centered the H was in the beginning but he redeemed himself. The banter between the H and h had me laughing. There were a couple of minor plot lines that I wish had been followed especially with her ex-fiance. The only other detractor for me was the lack of epilogue. Overall, this was a funny and romantic book that I would recommend.

Cute Celebrity Romance For Summer
I'm a sucker for the celebrity hero/normal heroine trope so I enjoyed this book. Jason starts off self-centered in the beginning but he redeems himself over time. The midway introduction of Scott was jarring, but understandable to keep the plot moving forward. Some plot lines weren't developed very well (what happened to the fiance, you never find out), but overall this is a light hearted, fun summer beach read. It does end rather short, with no epilogue, but it's still a cute celebrity romance.

Fun enemies to lovers story
I just discovered this author and am now on my third book by her. This was the first one I read by her and I really enjoyed the characters, the enemies to lovers story and the dialogue. I found myself just enjoying the entire story so I recommend this one. As I said I immediately read the next book in this series and am now on a third. There is not very much angst in this story - just a building towards and HEA that seems earned.

A HAPPY 3.5 STARS
This romance book is about A-list Hollywood actor - Jason Andrews, and fierce attorney - Taylor Donovan, and after re-reading I’m not sure how I could have forgotten about this book. It started really strong and had me engrossed, the writing was well paced, the banter between Taylor and Jason fab.Taylor is smart, sassy and sarcastic in the best way, not letting Jason get away with anything. And then there is Jason (sigh) who is a sweetheart with a good sense of humour, so forgiving him for the times he was a pain was easy. Both have their flaws, but flaws that make you like them as characters. My attention wavered just after the half way mark, but I still remained engaged, if not as engrossed as I was at the onset. This is a lovely light romance, with no real steam.

not sure
This was my first Julie James book and I liked it but I didn't love it, started off really good different story and great characters but by the middle Jason the male lead was getting on my nerves a bit with his playing around instead of just being up front with the female lead Taylor,I did love Jason's best friend Jeremey and I hope there's a book out there with his story, I am going to give the next book a go as I ordered both this and the next one but I can't make my mind up if I liked it or not.Taylor Donovan is transferred to the LA branch of her law firm to deal with a high-stakes sexual harassment case, this is keeping her busy enough when her boss calls her in to his office and asks her to teach an actor how to be a lawyer for his next big role, but Jason Andrews is no ordinary actor, he has been voted four times the sexiest man alive, and has a reputation with women that legend's are made of most of it being true! So for Taylor, who recently dumped her cheating fiancé, this is not the dream job most women would kill for she hates Jason on site and try's to quit but her boss wont have it, as Jason doesn't feel the same and only wants Taylor for the job as she's the first challange his had in a while. My problam with this was Taylor is meant to be a smart, no-nonsense kick-ass woman, with a great funny sarcastic sense of humour, but it doesnt take that long for her to fall for Jason's arrogance, and self important ways, I know the life he leads is the reason for the arrogant way he has with his approach to women, but it made me want to slap him sometimes and Taylor too for not calling him enough on it and seeing through his game at the party he throws. although he finally does realise his mistakes, for me it took awhile to get to that point and then Taylor who has her own issues after walking in on her ex with another woman that makes being with someone like Jason seem impossiable, but they get there in the end and get their HEA and I did love the end and the way the two finally get together, for me though it got a bit boring in the middle and I found myslef not caring too much hopefuly book two will be better and Ill re-read this and love it but for now I liked it but didnt push all my buttons

The Book Geek
A 4 star rating is always a positive thing, especially with me because I have a tendency to be annoyingly picky over little things in books... but I still think this is my least favourite Julie James novel so far. For me, it just didn't have what Practice Makes Perfect and Something About You had. Of course, there was plenty of the author's trademark witty banter and the inevitable love/hate relationship that I've come to expect but Jason Andrews never really impressed me.The story is about a Chicago lawyer, Taylor Donovan, who is sent to work with a Law firm in Los Angeles and then ends up getting roped into working with Hollywood's hottest actor - Jason Andrews. Jason is working on a part for his latest film where he will starring as a lawyer and wants Taylor's help in order to perfect the role. He cannot believe it when Taylor seems immune to his good looks and charm, when every other woman in the world wants more than anything else to sleep with him. His reputation in the press shows he's only too happy to oblige.Okay, so this means the guy's really arrogant, conceited, pigheaded and often just plain annoying. There are plenty of stories where it all comes out that the tabloids got it all wrong and that the actor is actually a kind, caring individual with more to him than the large amount of notches on his bed post. I never really got that with Jason. The redemption of him just didn't seem to work and if I was in Taylor's position and knew what she knew about him at the end, I would never have ignored my previous concerns in favour of trusting him.The novel would have been better if we'd been led to fall in love with Jason's personality, this seemed like an area that was never tapped into and I finished reading wondering if he actually had one. I also couldn't help but dislike the fact that Taylor gave up her partnership opportunities as a lawyer to be with an arrogant, oversexed actor. She seemed to all of sudden change from Ms strong-and-independent into Ms screw-my-career-if-I-can't-be-with-him and it wasn't a particularly smooth transition.I enjoyed the novel and I really love Julie James' writing style of sarcastic humour and quickfire bantering. But I wanted more from this book and I feel unsatisfied by the conclusion. I want a male character I can like as much as the female lead does, I want character development that makes sense and I want more sex. Yes, that's another thing - I like smut with my romance, I'm not going to lie to you. This book had exactly 1 sex scene and it went something like "And then Taylor reached for his belt buckle..." *fade to black*. I've said in other reviews that I don't care if it's not overly descriptive, but come on, at least give a little detail. Dreamfever isn't descriptive like, say, a Lora Leigh novel, but it is damn hot!

Sassy, Fun and Cute
When Taylor Donovan is transferred to the LA branch of her law firm to deal with a high-stakes sexual harassment case, the last thing she expects to be doing is teaching an actor how to do her job.But this is LA. And Jason Andrews is no ordinary actor. Not only does he regularly top the sexiest polls, his reputation with women is legend. So for Taylor, recently split from her philandering ex-fiancé, baby-sitting this particular star is all about professionalism.Shame Jason doesn't think the same...Mixing Hollywood glamour with hardworking lawyers, James' first book is a cute romance, focusing more on the psychological than the physical. Taylor is a smart, no-nonsense girl, with a sarcastic sense of humour, while Jason is all arrogance, made that way by the life he leads. It's a delight to read through all his mistakes until he finally realises why Taylor is different from what he's used to, and what he should do about it. Not that Taylor doesn't make her own mistakes, but this book is more about fun than unpleasant consequences.Sassy, fun and cute, this is an irresistible read with a touch of glamour thrown in.

Fabulous romance - adored it!
Hot shot lawyer, Taylor Donovan, has recently transferred to LA to deal with a high profile sexual harassment case and she is determined to win. Her work is her life and she's known to be cool, calm and collected both in the courtroom and out. But that changes when she's told she has to teach an actor how to do her job.Jason Andrews has just been voted the sexiest man alive and he's always been able to make women fall at his feet. The fact that Taylor seems immune to his charms is quite disconcerting but he's sure there's a spark of something behind her sarcasm and he's determined to prove that she might just be his perfect match. This is the first book by Julie James I've read and I was hooked from the first page.Taylor was a sassy and no-nonsense kind of girl but with a soft side that made her realistic and definitely not a stereotypical ball-busting lawyer.Jason, the world famous movie star, started off as arrogant and spoiled but as the book and his relationship with Taylor progressed you saw his attitude shift to become a man you couldn't help but want for yourself. The pair had amazing chemistry and although there were no graphic sex scenes, there was more sexual tension and chemistry in this book an in many erotic novels I've read. The romance and the will-they, won't they storyline gave me butterflies in my stomach and the conclusion had me sighing in romantic delight!Overall, I adored this novel and more especially the relationship between Jason and Taylor. I will definitely be looking out for Julie James' other novels and would recommend this to anyone who likes a fun, sweet and intelligent romance. 5 stars.
