great quality and tone doesn't have to cost
Recently decided I like to change my tone from high output ceramic ferrite to a Alnico-5 bridge pickup on my 06 SX SST-LH. I wanted to keep this guitar a little hot rodded for some great hot tone stuff and found this great set that had the specs I was looking for. For tone control I'm using an orange drop .0223uf/100v cap for both and the tone has nice rich mids with clear sustained bass when letting a cord ring out. Switching to the bridge has that kick (in the...) up volume, and punch that you look for to stand out front. Neck pu sounds great clean very much a hot jazz tone like an LP and will breakup if you push up the front end gain a little. What speaks of their quality, is they sound just as great split into single coils. And take a look....they're reverse Zebra's. This set was less than half the cost of the big brand name single pu I had in the bridge allowing me to upgrade the 3way and pots. I think the pics show as well the great pole spacing match for FR tremolo bridges. No longer just a single purpose tone monster. Nice to have a matching set in the guitar I will look to purchase again in white for another guitar. Highly recommend, and not considering their cost over their tonality as a deciding factor. TD

Very close clone of JB/Jazz pickups
If you are looking for a sound very similar to the famous JB/Jazz combo of pick-ups without having to dish out nearly 6 times the price, look no further. As other reviewers have pointed out, these sound quite similar. In my testing in two very similar guitars (one with JB/Jazz, the other with these Wilkinsons) the bridge pickups are very, very close. Almost imperceptably, both clean and dirty. Nearly spot-on JB clone, ever so slightly less hot.The neck pick-up sounds a little warmer to my ears than the Jazz. This isn't a bad thing at all, in fact I prefer the way the middle position blends the two pickups output better with these Wilkinsons than I do on my JB/Jazz guitar!Overall, pretty incredible deal on some great upgrades for a cheap guitar. If you have a mig-high to high end guitar, go ahead and splurge on the real deal SD pick-ups. It'd be silly to cheap out on that... but if you've got a lower or middle end Squier or something just put these in and save yourself the money while still getting nearly identical tone

Wilkinson logo can cause injury. Pickups sound awesome.
These pickups sound great. Packaged very well. Wiring instructions included are easy to understand. The price is very affordable. That is 4 stars. The only thing you should be warned about is the Wilkinson logo is made of a metallic material. If you wipe your strings before and after you play, the logo can get caught in your cloth and redeposited on your fretboard without you being aware of it. That is until you find it with your fingertips, like I did. The 'W' was partially dismounted and shaped like a spear, got lodged into my fingertip. It immediately stopped me from playing from the stabbing pain. I had to wait until my fingertip stopped bleeding before I could resume playing. I have since removed the Wilkinson logo to avoid further fingertip injury. Players beware, but these pickups are great. I do recommend installing these in your guitar.

Vintage tone
I bought one set of these and a set of the "hot" Wilkinson's for my two chibsons lps. The vintage ones are in my main guitar for my band. They look and sound like the real deal. Quite dynamic and great clean and driven sounds. The cleans are warm and clear but they crunch up just enough with my blues driver. Fantastic deal. Just buy them. Don't think twice.

Great for the price. I’d use them as a placeholder for builds
Perfect place holder for a builder if you expect your customers to shop for their own upgrade, or good enough for a beginner on a budget. I’m not aware of better for less than $80 per pickup. The bridge pickup had a cool kinda growl when distorted. The neck seemed pretty nice too. I put them in a short scale guitar I built when I was selling it cause they were cheap but wanted to give the guitar something good enoughThe customer said he liked them and was also surprised at how cheap they are.If I was still building and wanted something I wouldn’t be embarrassed of but not so expensive the customer felt like they wasted their money as they start shopping for really nice pickups I’d be using these. If you’re just getting into playing and don’t want to spend a fortune but want better than the pickups that come with 200 dollar guitars this could be your pickup for now, if you have access to soldering for free.If you have to take it to a shop you might just want to go for a full on set of big brand pickups so you don’t have to pay to get a new set installed when you start to get the “I wonders.” If you’re not sure you’re going to stick with it and really don’t want to waste any money maybe go for these though. I think you’ll be happy enough with them. This is all a judgment call. lolGood luck!

GR8 Value
I purchased these for a mustang modification. They came promptly, packaged well with a diagram. After proper installation ( 500K CTS pots,OD 22 CAP, QUALITY WIRE) I adjusted height and pole pieces. Dialed in they sound amazing and can handle GAIN very well. For the money you can't go wrong, I highly recommend these pups! Nothing chincy..built well. It's been awhile (6 months?)..... very warm to a power heavy duty crunch and super clean. Ultimate blues pups.

Great budget pickups
These are great pickups. I didn't expect much for the sub $40 price tag, but I was definitely surprised by the sound of these. I put them in a pawn shop squire affinity, I've been working on. I figured they had to be better than the stock squire pickups, and I was right. They were MUCH better. The bridge pup has a nice articulate balance and tone, and it can do cleans or heavy very well. The neck pup has a Les Paul esque tone to it. Nice musical cleans, and buttery, articulate notes with some drive or distortion. I strongly recommend them.
