This is a positive review with two small caveats at the bottom. Admittedly, I've never really cared to get professional manicures (I've had my nails done at a salon four times in my life). I wish I was more into it because I think I'd take better care of my nails. When my cuticles get dry, I tend to pick at them, create hangnails, etc. Not great. With the pandemic, I saw a lot of folks trying at-home kits like these, so I thought I'd give it a go with the goal of simply taking better care of my hands/nails. When I finished this first go, it left me with the same feeling that I've had historically once I leave a salon—I actually enjoy looking at my nails. They feel pretty, professionally done, and I don't want to screw them up. The fact that this kit will last me awhile at the same price as a salon manicure is really great for me. I truly do recommend this kit—but also know this glowing review is coming from someone who doesn't get her nails done really ever.Caveats. The color that appears to be a deep burgundy came out to be more of a deep dusty rose for me. I truthfully didn't mind this because it's more of a wearable color to me. I imagine it would take quite a few coats to achieve that deep richness in the photo, but the kit directions even say to try and keep your coats thin to achieve success. The rest of the colors are pretty accurate to what's provided in the product shot. I painted the colors on the box I received for reference. The pink doesn't look great because it's rather sheer and just created a wet spot on the cardboard.And last note, it's really important to not let the polish pool where the nail meets the skin or paint on top of any dead cuticles. Both of these scenarios means that the polish is not fully adhered to the nail, so it may start to peel. It has been four days of wear for me with the nails still looking great, but I do have the slightest signs of the polish peeling where it had pooled a bit on one of my nails. This was a user error.

Like others, I bought this to save money on nails.I didn't do them right the first time, so they took a lot longer to do and didn't turn out right. After learning from my mistakes (and by reading the tips in the reviews), the second time was much easier and didn't take as much time.Cons:• Colors are slightly different, but not by much.• The light gets uncomfortably hot. I recommend unplugging it after use to prevent overheating.• The top and bottom gel polish labels are slightly confusing, especially since they have the same instructions as the color gel polish.• Overall the gel polish in this kit is of low quality (I think mine may have been old).Pros:• UV light is lightweight and small.• The kit includes accessories and tools for manicuring the nail and cuticles. It comes with a nice-smelling, hydrating cuticle oil.Here are the things I did that helped:• Make sure hands/nails are clean and dry. Applying alcohol after washing and drying would help, however it will dry out your skin.• Apply very thin coats of the polish. 2 coats will still be very sheer so I would recommend at least 3; 4 if you want the color to pop.• Even if the polish is still slightly tacky, you can still apply another coat. When in doubt, you can always cure it a little more if you think your layer of polish was too thick.• Cure every layer of polish (including base coat) for 2 minutes.• Cure the top coat of polish for 3 minutes.After following all these steps, I finished with dry nails and could carry on with my day.I'm excited to try other brands of gel polish. I hope this lasts a long time; it has already saved me 2 visits!

I was so excited that I used every color on each nail.. my right hand has one coat and the left has two.It’s important to know that after curing the color, it does remain a bit tacky until the top coat is applied and cured. Right after I was done, I washed dinner dishes. And a few more things after that.These pics were taken the next morning. The shine is beautiful and so are the color pallets. The only thing I wished was that, on the Amazon listing, the color code was listed next to its color so I knew exactly which was which.If you’re thinking of getting it, get it!I love-love my nails and can’t wait to do my toes :)
