This is an excellent GF cake. I've tried a few mug cakes, as I like to keep around something safe for when cravings hit me. I've had to "augment" recipes in the past, like substituting milk for water, but this is honestly better if you make it with some filtered water. I made it both ways and my boyfriend agreed that the texture and taste was better when using water - it also cooked up much more fluffy in the microwave, instead of collapsing a bit. The taste was more or less the same for both, just off-set a bit by the oat milk. The texture is so like a regular cake I couldn't tell the difference, but my bf (who does not have to be gluten free) said he could tell.The flavor is a dark chocolate, but not bitter - dark enough not to be cloyingly sweet. The caramel chips are delicious and almost TOO numerous, actually (for me, not my bf). It's the perfect serving size. To me, all of these wins make it worth the price for a sometimes-treat! I generally love all the King Arthur gluten-free treats, and they don't give me any issues after eating (like bloating). Highly recommend!

I would give this product 100 stars if I could -they were so very delicious. My celiac daughter fell in love with them!!

I try to stay away from sweets and am also on a gluten-free diet for life. But when I need a yummy dessert, these do the trick. They are really convenient and quick to cook in the microwave. I add a dollop of sugar free ice-cream ontop, right after they come out of the microwave and they are delicious!

Ok. This product makes living Gluten-Free positively delightful. Cannot say enough good things about the product. But that makes the next part all the more disappointing. I was so sad in my heart when I saw that 2 of the products had been punctured during the shipping process. They are individual and there is no extra layer of protection around each of them, so likely as they got jostled about en route to me, the chocolate powder of 2 victims went spilling everywhere. So...it was messy and we lost out on 2 desserts. I did not return them because 10 out of the 12 were in perfect condition. My recommendation to the manufacturer and/or the distributor is that they need a little more love and protection for the trip.

Stars partially based on a different flavor. I was excited to order a bulk pack, as I LOVE the chocolate chip cookie flavor I found at my local schnucks. As this flavor was sold out though, I decided to try the Funfetti flavor and sadly it wasn't a winner. Tried several different microwave times and just couldn't get the cake to rise or be fluffy. It wasn't raw, exactly, but had the texture of bread pudding. Will buy chocolate chip cookie flavor when it is back in stock though.

However it can be a bit too rich for me to eat often but otherwise tasty and cannot tell that it’s gluten free. Super easy to make.

So good that one wouldn’t guess that these are gluten-free. I really like the taste and consistency. I especially love how easy it is to make these treats - a little water, less than a minute in the microwave, done! I like the convenience of a shelf-stable treat for me, and that they are an easy ‘cooking’ treat for my kids to make on their own. The completed dessert is small, but it’s probably enough to fulfill a sweet tooth craving.

I didn’t want to make a whole cake when I needed a chocolate fix! So these are perfect! Easy, quick, and tasty! I bought a case, so if one wasn’t enough, I could fix another, and it still wouldn’t be like a whole cake!I will order again!
