Fixes Slow-draining Vessel Sinks
I ordered two of these, one bronze the other brushed nickel. I incorrectly ordered the brushed nickel without overflow, so I had to return it for this one with overflow. These are excellent quality items in both material and finishes, and the price is great. I've already installed both.Although there are no instructions with the item, it's very easy and straight-forward. For any first timer, you can find a you-tube video to tell you how.My problem was my existing vanity sinks came with a regular "screen" type drain cover (i.e., 19-hole strainer), and as with many vanity sinks, it took a long time to drain or you had to help it by rubbing your finger over the top of the drain.I researched the issue and did not want to have to install a vent under my small sink, so I went with the stopper approach. This works great ! it reduces the splatter when the water is running, and it drains immediately because the stopper creates a vortex effect in the drain preventing the air from being trapped. So, this is the solution if you have a vanity sink that isn't draining properly or quickly. I should note that it comes with 2 rubber seals. Initially, I applied one between the bowl and the drain hole plate, with plumber's putty underneath. It worked fine, but seemed to hold a small amount of water in the bottom of the sink. When i installed my second one, I used only the plumber's putty and did not use the upper-most rubber gasket/seal. Works great now, with very little water remaining in the vessel bottom when the water is cut off. This is actually due to my vessel design, which allows the rim of the top drain piece to set slightly higher than the slope of the drain in the vessel. If these products are typical of KES, then I will continue to order from them, because the items are excellent quality and price.

Works well and looks GREAT!
Easy to install... no leaks after you make sure you have it tight enough. If you have a leak, tighten it down and try again until you don't have a leak... Much easier than installing the pull type of pop-up that came with our fauces.

Great product, with caveats that may or may not bother you
Installed this almost 3 weeks ago. So far, great product. Plunger is really wide from what we're used to (push/pull-rod style), which takes a little getting used to.Install note: Our sink drain opening (the hole in the bottom of the sink) was 1-5/8" (1.625"). This product states that it requires at least 1-3/5" (1.6"). When I dry-fitted this, I had to screw it into the opening. If barely fit, and would not slide in dry. I applied teflon paste to the threads to both lubricate for install and seal post-install, and it slipped right in. The teflon paste also provided an extra level of seal for the teflon ring without any extra height (see con below). I applied teflon paste to the threads where bottom seal went prior to screwing that into place, as well. Zero leakage.Pros: It works, all-metal bodyCons: - has around 1/16" - 3/32" rise higher than level with the bottom of the sink, so a small amount of water remains. Not a huge deal, just an annoyance having to run extra water to rinse anything down that remains in the pooled water - slightly slow drain, with a work-around, and a problem with the work-around. Start with an "empty" sink, turn the water on 50% or more, the sink will eventually fill (doesn't fill much faster with water at 100%). Work-around: click the plunger down, wait a few seconds, click the plunger back up, sink drains VERY quickly. I think this has to do with the area of the drain opening with the plunger open but covering (in the up position) and/or air getting trapped and interfering. The workaround basically results in the water going down the drain in such a way that it applies suction to the water in the sink, pulling it down with it. The problem with that is that it also empties the P-trap, meaning that, if left empty, sewer gases will vent into the living space. The fix to that is to then run the water for a couple of seconds again. - I'm not a fan of having to stick my hand into the water that I want to drain when un-plunging; that's just the style of product and has nothing to do with this product in particular (and did not affect my rating) - I could not find a push/pull-rod style that was no overflow and less than $100.Bottom line: If you don't mind a little water pooling in the bottom of the sink, and you don't mind having to plunge, unplunge, then run a few more seconds of water after it finishes draining every time you need to run lots of water for a few minutes or need to fill the sink, then this is great!

Great match to black fixtures
Ever seen someone successfully paint their old faucet and also have a matching modem drain? Now you have. This drain was a super easy and quick installation job with everything you need to do it right. Comes with plumber’s tape. Directions are tiny, but if you follow them carefully, you’ll do it right on the first try. $20 to modernize a formerly sad old sink. Easy click drain. No leaks. Love it.

Best Sink Drain Option
So glad we bought these. Fits great, looks great, and is such a better option than the stick that pushes the drain stop up and down that comes with so many sinks and vanities. Locks tightly into place. Holds water in sink w no leaking. Great product.

Solid drain
Solid drain made of all metal, i think. Works great and seems really durable. However, I did have some leakage at first but I had only hand tightened without thread tape. After I redid the connection below the sink with some thread tape and max strength hand tightening, the leakage stopped. You can probably torque it down with a wrench too but I didn't have a big enough one, or you could probably use some plumbers putty if thread tape doesnt work.

Good quality product for the money
In the end, everything got installed with no water leaks. It’s a nice look and fits together snugly. As others have suggested in their reviews, I assembled the pop up drain assembly and it started leaking. So, I took it all apart, and closely examined each part. It turns out the silicon gasket immediately under the pop up drain was affixed backwards initially. I reversed it and put everything back together, and this time no leaks. The kit includes some Teflon tape. I’ve always been told my plumbers that one can never go wrong with Teflon tape, so I used it on all the metal threads, which I’m sure helped. Also, it’s good to snug everything down I used channel lock pliers, and they put all the fittings together like a charm. I have installed KES drain parts before and they are reliable and work. For those that don’t think there are any instructions, that isn’t true. There was a small folded set of instructions that explained how the parts all fit together and there is also an illustration on the Amazon web page. It’s one of the things that drew me to the KES products in the first place - in the past, I have ordered plumbing parts and as I’m only a DIY’er , it’s really frustrating not receiving instructions on how to put the parts together. All told, I’m super happy with this pop-up drain and highly recommend it.
