Steam Control 8-Quart Surgical Stainless-Steel Stockpot Set

Our old pasta pot was 'giving up the ghost' ... after may years, handles falling off, etc. So we shopped around, didn't find anything that grabbed us. Until we came across this on Amazon! She likes the plastic handles ... cool. We've used it a few times already. Nice have bottom to spread the heat around. Not just pasta, of course. We steam veggies, corn on the cob. Highly recommended!

This item shouldn't be used to boil spaghetti because it is designed for waterless cooking. This means it has a very thick bottom designed to retain heat for low temperature heating. I couldn't get it to keep a rolling boil going using the highest heat setting on my stove. If you are interested in waterless cooking this may be an excellent product and therefore it shouldn't be advertised as a spaghetti cooker (unless some genius can cook spaghetti without water).

This pot is exactly what I was looking for...great for pasta and veggies. It's bottom is heavy and distributes the heat evenly. The size fits easily in my pan drawer so I don't have to store it in an inconvient place.

Love it! Yes, water does boil just fine in mine, even at high altitude! You can use it for waterless cooking without the inserts if you wish or you can boil water for pasta or veggies with the inserts. It's one of the most used items in my kitchen! Plan to get one for the daughter-in-law soon, as she was amazed by it!
