but they've been great so far
Only have 15 miles on em, and have run on primarily buffed out trail, but they've been great so far, very light and comfortable. Curious as to how they'd fair on longer, rockier terrain. Will update!Update 11/2015I've done a longer run as far as 37 miles on them on fairly smooth terrain, and they held up great. I love these shoes, highly recommend. My first pair I put around 450 miles on them, with i'd say a third of the miles coming on somewhat rocky, but mostly runable LA mountain terrain. The rest came on fire/service dirt roads, and they held up fine. I retired my first pair after I started noticing the rocks a little moreduring my runs (after about 450 miles). So yea, go for it, find them on sale too, I picked up pairs for as cheap as $35. My one complaint is no rock plate, but I've taken them on runs in technical terrain in the sierras and they held up fine.Update 12/2015Ran a rugged 50 miler in Santa Barbara, Ca, and they were great. It would have been nice to have something with a little more ground protection, but these shoes held up really well. I don't know why people complain about the lack of durability, they hold up!

I like this shoe, minimalist with a bit more protection
Bought these after having used and almost worn out a pair of Fluidflex (1s?). I can't see any differences between them and the Fluidfex 2. I have flat but inflexible feet so these work for me. I need a fairly straight last and these fit me; and they are light weight. They are flexible and have a fair amount of cushioning. Basically a minimalist shoe with a bit more cushioning. While they are listed as trail shoes, they work just as well on the road. When I saw the sole with knobs of outsole and exposed midsole, I was worried that they wouldn't last, but after a year and about 2000 km walking and running (more walking than running) they are still usable, at least as walking shoes and there is still only the beginnings of wear on the exposed midsole. I have not used them on really rocky rough (alpine) trails, though I have on fairly rocky trails with no problems. Would also work as a racing flat.

The perfect shoe to run a mix of trail and road
This shoe feels very light and quick. The cushion is noticed with your first step. The back of the shoe has two padded bumps that secure your heel and keep it from lifting. The perfect shoe to run a mix of trail and road.

Good athletic shoe
I use this shoe for work and dog walking. It's very light and has a soft midsole. It's wide enough to accommodate my otc orthotic and a thin heel cushion to raise the heel-toe drop a few mm. I have used it for trail running on non-technical terrain, too.

Comfortable for light use!
Love these shoes for light walks around the neighborhood. Took my last pair up to the North Cascades on a five day hike as "camp shoes." Used my Asolo boots for the actual hike, but these were great around camp and some short jaunts without a pack. Unfortunately lost one on the next to last day and really missed them that night in camp. Ordered a new pair the day I got home!

Been looking around for these shoes at a good price for ages - finally found them
Been looking around for these shoes at a good price for ages - finally found them, slightly disappointed that they run quite large, maybe half a size.As far as running in the goes they are very comfortable - seem like a good durable shoe - will report back....

Good lightweight trade off shoe.
Very light weight, which is a priority for me. Also comfortable and well ventilated, with mesh near the sole that allows water out after stream crossings. Downside is a shoe that wears out after about 300km of backpacking and less protection of the foot all round (no rock plate or excess cushioning, etc.)

This shoe is great if you have a high volume foot
This shoe is great if you have a high volume foot, which I do.It is extremely versatile, can handle trails and roads, is light and flexible. If the upper fits this is a great shoe.
