This is an entirely manual juicer, so you need to be strong enough to pull down the handle, which takes a surprising amount of effort for the oranges I used. But that isn't a fault with the product, just the strength needed to juice oranges. Similarly, you require quite a lot of oranges: I need 3 or 4 to make a small glass of juice, so once sliced in half, you are looking at 6 to 8 pulls on the handle. Larger juicing oranges probably take less effort; I found a large juicy red grapefruit only needed the two halves to make a small glass.When pulling down the handle, you need to place your other hand on the top of the juicer to counterbalance and hold it steady, otherwise you might pull it over from pressing so hard. It has rubber feet which help keep it stable, but it still needs a little bit of support. I find the feet leave smudges on my worktop, although they wipe off. Some people have said that the handle risks falling down when raised and trapping your fingers, but I haven't encountered that. The top press position is adjustable using the allen key supplied, although I found it was already in the ideal position.The device itself is very solid, cast metal, and the juicing cones feel good quality and strong. You do need to wash the cones immediately after use, as otherwise the acidic juice discolours them, and bits of dried orange go sticky and harder to remove. You can't remove the top press itself to wash it, so I use a piece of kitchen roll to wipe it down.Overall a good quality item, and it looks fantastic if you buy the bright orange one like I did. It would look good in a kitchen just as an item of decoration aside from using it to juice oranges.

Easy and quickly juicy

Great juicer. Simple mechanism. Easy to operate.I doubt it is value for the money as the price of oranges in the UK is skyrocketing.There's a safety concern with this juicer. When you lift the handle up, it leans back by about 5 to 10 degrees, and it can't prevent the heavy handle from dropping down forcefully. This is risky, especially when you're working with the bottom plate, like removing the squeezed orange skin from the bottom plate or pulp from the holes. A slight shake on the juicer can cause the handle to release itself and suddenly drop. It could trap your fingers between the plates and cause serious injury. The weight of the handle could crush or chop your fingers if you're not careful.I haven't experienced this issue personally (my fingers are still fine), and I'm not sure if it's happened to anyone else who bought this juicer.Additionally, you can't remove the top plate for cleaning like you can with the bottom one. You have to take the whole juicer to the sink to clean the top plate.I hope the manufacturer looks at these issues.

Excellent bit of kit.Really sturdy and easy to clean. There is nothing quite like real fresh fruit juice straight from the fruit and into a glass. Oranges and pomegranates are a breeze with this thing.

Easy to use

I don't usually bother writing reviews for everything I buy, but I spent ages picking this juicer and have to say it is exceptional. I chose it primarily because it is simple stainless steel and cast iron (so no aluminium parts), and the handle seemed to lean further back than most (a point I noted after reading about one lady nearly having her finger cut off when the handle on her make of juicer was knocked forward!). The juicer is heavy and therefore sturdy and extremely easy to use (my 7 year old can work it). There are no sharp edges on the juicing parts and it is a simple matter to separate the two pieces for washing after use. I usually keep a tea strainer on the cup or glass when I'm juicing to catch any lumps because sometimes pith gets through the strainer holes due to the power of the juicer, but I've found this very much depends on the oranges I'm using. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Love the design, very efficient and better than some of the electric juicers!

I am reluctantly returning this because although I find its simplicity and heavy duty style very appealing, I just feel that it wastes too much fruit! The leftover orange halves (see image) feel like they still have weight and also look as though you could get rather more from them. It's a real shame because I love this thing otherwise! The press is soo satisfying to operate and has a really good overall feel to it, for example the big rubber grip which covers the press handle is particularly pleasing. The stainless steel insert feels rather lightweight compared to the sturdiness of the machine itself, however it does its job no problem. You are somewhat restricted in terms of what vessel you can place underneath to catch the juice; it can't be too tall or wide. I used a 0.5 l Pyrex jug. I will also mention that unless you don't mind quite large chunks in your drink, you may want to use a sieve.

We've been using the hand-held "plier" type squeezer. I say "we"... , I'm the one who has been doing all the squeezing since my wife has some trouble with her hands. There had to be a better, smarter, more effective/efficient way.Enter this counter-top squeezer. Wow. This is so quick and easy to use, and it's so efficient! Those lemons and limes don't stand a chance! When I get through with them, they're dry!It's really nice that the handle goes to the bottom of the stroke and lightly locks there. I let it stay there for three or four seconds until the juice stops dripping. It's very easy to clean and it sits nicely in its own little patch of counter top.It's quite sturdy. It's well-made. Ergonomic. Efficient. Well worth the price! If you do a lot of squeezing, this squeezer will make you giddy!

My box were damaged when it arrived and i had some missing screws but i found them easily and it’s working great so far. Smashes the citrus perfectly with no effort, easy to clean. That juicer is solid and strong, don’t let the handle fall back on tour face, be sure that the kids are supervised so they don’t break their tiny fingers.

Solid very sturdy and does what it has to do ... Really the best to squeeze from lemon to grapefruit

I'm using this to squeeze lemons and limes for now. This thing is rock solid. The long lever provides great leverage/power. Aesthetically pleasing. No instructions but none needed; arrived with a plastic and metal washers, and small screw needing attachment to 1 joint; 2 Allen wrenches also included. My unit has rubber feet on the bottom and combining it with its weight, it moves nowhere when using. The price is a good value. All of the juice is squeeze out from the limes/lemons! Very happy with this product.
