Our Best MX5 Exhaust...this version is only for the cars with Appearance package (see PICTURES of factory appearance package cars bottom of the page)...tips are extended 1.5 inches to properly fit the MX5 factory Appearance Package lower rear valance. Installation is easy and can be done in the driveway. Simple BOLT ON that bolts to our midpipe, or the factory midpipe, or our Racing Beat midpipes. Weight is 26 pounds with baffles installed. This system is 10% louder than the stock muffler on an otherwise stock MX5 exhaust system....and only about 20% to 25% over stock sound level when used with our complete 2.5 inch RoadsterSport header and 2.5 inch RoadsterSport midpipe. Baffles are retained by small hex bolts inserted from well under each tip. This Miata exhaust is guaranteed for as long as you own your Miata. Proudly made in the USA with a LIFETIME WARRANTY. Fits all 2006 and newer with manual transmission MX5 Miata, automatic transmission MX5 Miata, and retractable hardtop MX5 Miata! Removing the factory header means removing the first catalytic converter which is also a very large resonator. The result of the header change is a massive amount of additional sound down the exhaust tubes. Developing a muffler that could both deliver all the flow of our other RoadsterSport designs yet swallow the sound unleashed by the header was a challenge. The factory muffler does an okay job with the sound from a header change but at the cost of flow and a giving back of much of the hard fought horsepower gains of the header change. By using smooth mandrel bent 2.5 inch tubing to redirect the flow for a side entrance to the muffler we engineered a sound wave attenuation first chamber to knock down volume level dramatically while maintaining a flow-through design. Our latest and best dyno results for the header change which are in our forum were obtained with this muffler....all the flow, without all the noise!
