Excellent for diod lasers
Excellent Plywood for Diode Laser CuttingI recently purchased this laser plywood and have been thoroughly impressed with its performance. Using my 36W blue diode laser, the material cut exceptionally well, yielding very clean and highly accurate results. The quality of the plywood is evident, as it allowed for precise cuts without issues often encountered with lesser-grade materials. For anyone using a diode laser, particularly in the 36W range, this plywood is a fantastic choice for achieving professional and crisp outcomes. I highly recommend it for projects requiring fine detail and clean edges.

Great quality! Flat! Less sanding required!
I don't leave a lot of reviews, but we had bought some of this wood, then couple months later gone back to some use up other wood we had gotten from a different vendor and the difference was very obvious to us.. so I came back to compliment this wood! This wood lays flatter for laser cutting, we don't usually even have to pin it down. We usually only have to sand it once before vs other wood seems to need a before and after sand. Consistent color for all the boards. It is a little thinner than other wood we have gotten, but that only matters if you are making things with slots, so you might just have to adjust your design slightly (not a big deal in my opinion- worth it for the other positives).Great product! And we will be repeat buyers! Fast shipping! And good price! š So glad we found this!

poor quality
I have ordered this product multiple times over the last year-and with the rating B/BB, i expect a few flaws here and there, maybe a patch on some sheets. This last bundle, 8 of the 20 sheets have a patch-and it's a strange patch, not the normal oval. The remainder of the 20 all had what looked like grease stained into the wood. I make small items with this wood to sell. I am actually shocked, because the quality has normally been fairly good-but this was awful. It seemed like someone grabbed all the really awful pieces and made a box out of them, and sold as normal. Shame!! I looked for a way to contact seller-but was unable to locate one, so am putting in review. Hopefully it is seen by the company. I had just ordered another box before i opened this one, so I hope it will be the better quality that i've come to know. If not, you can keep it.

Great Wood for my GlowForge Pro at a Great Price!
This 3mm birch ply is really pretty and cuts great in my GlowForge Pro! It's a good value for anyone that doesn't have access to buying 4x8 sheets of birch, hauling them home and cutting them down themselves! Almost no imperfections in the box of 20 sheets... 2 teeny tiny knots and 1 small oval patch area on 1 sheet. That's amazing! This is wood people- wood has knots by nature so I never expect perfection. There was a very slight bow to a few of the 1/8" pieces (I bought 40 total) but they still cut perfectly in my laser using the honeycomb pins to hold the wood down a bit. Thin ply like that can bow so easily- that's why I always add a frame to it if I am not cutting it into tiny pieces and frames will keep it straight and flat. I also weighted down a couple of the pieces and that straightenes them out too. It really was no problem at all and totally expected here and there with this thin ply. I'm just mentioning it so that others will know what to expect- I see pol leave a less than stellar review bc of slight bowing of a piece or two here and there, which is just Nature at work.

Unpredictable - I'm trying to like Woodpeckers, but these aggravations are making it difficult.
I have ordered the 12x20 1/8" sheets several times and it seems to be a toss up as to what I get quality wise. This time the sheets were nice uniform color free from surface patches. However a full third of the sheets have had internal filler which is nearly impervious to laser cutting leading to lost product and lost time for me. I suppose the full blame for this may lay with their suppliers, but the result is the same for me. Also, another thing which may be the result of temperature and humidity, is that all 20 sheets are not quite flat with an ever so slight bow. Lasers do not like bows. I'm trying to like Woodpeckers, but these aggravations are making it difficult.

Premium Wood
I was purchasing at craft stores and found this wood to be better priced and great quality. A word on warping.....wood is going to warp as it absorbs and expels moisture. I warped board can be unwarped in most instances. As with bringing wood flooring or wall paneling home from the lumbar stores, it is highly recommended to store the wood in the environment its going to be used for 24-48 hours prior to use. This allows the wood to adapt to the moisture environment. As with this wood and only being .12" thick, this is just as critical. I keep two boxes on hand and when I'm down to one, I reorder. When that second box arrives, I remove the stack of wood from the box, place it on a hard surface and place heavy items on top of the stack for at least 48 hours to unwarp and flatten. This may not solve all warping, but I have done this countless times and it has been very successful. - Jeff - Pacific Northwest Handicrafts - Etsy
