Very comfortable all day office work chair
Purchased open box return which arrived very fast, most likely direct from previous return customer. Chair arrived with back rest damage, something heavy landed on top of box and separated pad from back rest. Back rest had bend and dent but I was able to make a full repair, not sure if others could though. Chair works 100% like new except for a dent and couple bent areas in back rest that you do not feel when sitting on. I am 6’ and 240lbs and chair is great, would of liked an option to attach a head rest but I’ll be ok. It’s a great unassuming office chair that doesn’t get the looks of others so I am glad I didn’t pay the full price and to be honest, now that I have been using it for a couple of weeks, my mind has changed and I wouldn’t have minded paying full price now either. It’s a great work chair. Seat is very comfortable, back is comfortable, overall well built chair. I overly scrutinize and critique everything and the only complaint I have is that there’s a slight bend to back rest from previous damage. Those taller than 6’ should probably look at Steelcase Gesture or Leap V2 as those have taller backrest and or head rest options but those chairs are a lot more money. I think this Amia chair has a more comfortable seat pad anyways and I can use this chair for 8 hours a day and have no pain or stiffness in my back or legs. I cannot say that about other chairs. Great job Steelcase!

Buy quality. You're worth it.
You get what you pay for. I have spent more (in total) on three cheap chairs over the past three years than this chair cost. And then spent more to take them to the dump. I could kick myself for trying to be "thrifty" where quality and comfort matter. So why do I like this chair? The mechanisms work smoothly, are silent, and stay the way I put them without that pneumatic creep I have experienced in cheaper chairs. It is easy to adjust and my back no longer aches. I can tell it is well made and expect it to last for many years, just like the last time I spent $$$ on a quality chair. I do wish the seat had a bit more of a cushion, but it is not a serious complaint as there are no hard spots like I have felt in other chairs. And no assembly needed; just a really big cardboard box to cut up and recycle.A little about me: I sit at my computer desk for hours at a time. I am 5'6", 220 lbs, and 70 years old with arthritis. My bones are thanking me for this chair right now, while I type this review.
