SO much better than cloth straps
My cloth scraps just didn't cut it anymore, they were so slippery and barely helped my grip. I decided to try leather ones and these are a game-changer! The heavy barbell now feels so secure in my hands, I no longer feel like they're slipping out during higher reps. The straps break in fairly easily, after 1-2 uses they're perfect. Even during the 1st two uses they didn't cut didn't into my wrists. These are so perfect, I'm so happy I found them.I'm a woman with very small wrists, so I cut 3.5 inches off.

Excellent
High quality leather, professional stitching, both straps matched well, long enough to be able to double wrap the bar if needed, the underside is very soft, impressive. Easily the best straps I've ever owned, and I've tried many. Thick real leather, but also soft. I've had Sheik leather straps in the past where the quality of the leather didn't match well, one hand might be high quality and good stitching, the other not as good. This set shipped by "Unique Fitness Concepts" is right on.

Tough but perhaps a little too much. Very stiff.
I've been using the same pair of Schiek leather straps for 4-5 years and loved them. They were soft and a little stretchy, which allowed for a better grip on the bar. Unfortunately eventually they started ripping. I bought these ones as a replacement but alas they are not the same. They seem to be much stiffer, especially on the edges, and are unpleasant on the palms. I don't use gloves - and frankly never felt the need, as the straps I had before acted in that capacity and protected the skin on my palms. These ones might require gloves (if you care about keeping callouses on your hands in check). I am hoping the new straps will eventually become softer but it's been a month and so far there isn't much improvement. Also they seem to be shorter in length than my previous ones - no big deal but I do miss that extra inch and a half my old straps gave me. All that being said, these straps appear tough and durable.

Leather, for a natural feel and good cushion
I ran into grip problems due to sweaty palms doing deadlifts. As the gym i go to does not allow chalk, only gloves or straps i opted for straps. They arrive much softer than i expected which was nice. Initial use proved excellent, great bar hold, soft feel, no slip, easy to tighten and release.I was told cloth is the most common, but preferred going for leather straps for a more familiar feel and less sweat absorption. .They can get a solid 2-1/2 wraps on a standard olympic bar, which was plenty enough for my hands to hold without direct bar contact. My first use turned into a personal record. Highly recommendIf i had a complaint, it's superficial - leather break in... which should be expected anyways.I have not tried cloth straps, but would highly recommend these if you're looking for a higher durability than cloth/synthetic straps.

Great lifting straps
These are high quality straps most commonly used for improving the security of one's grip on a barbell when pulling off the ground. I highly recommend these straps as not too long, not too thick, and of high quality leather. I don't use them commercially or every day, but I am very satisfied with them.

Buy something else
These broke while deadlifting, This was on my 4th or 5th heavy set. Antiquated brand that can't hang anymore. Cheap.

Not long lasting
I’ve had two pairs of these straps, and they’ve both ripped at the loop. They also stretch during the first month of use. However, they grip the knurling better than most non leather straps and are wider than most inexpensive leather options.

Saving my thumbs
I've just started doing full-time Olympic lifting and the one surprise I had was how much my thumbs start to get chewed up from all the lifts. While you can't use the straps for everything, you can use them for some lifts and it really does help reduce the wear & tear on your thumbs. These straps work fine. I had them on wrists and slapped around the bar in no time. They're a great training aid.
