very unique name
Smooth taste, no acidity or bitterness at all. This is the first coffee I can drink by itself (without sweetener or cream). I will buy again.

A decadent indulgence, well worth the money.
I had been wanting to try this variety for a while, so I got myself some whole bean as a birthday gift. Honestly, this was what I always knew good coffee could taste like. All the good aspects of really good beans with zero tannic elements. I brewed some in my drip coffeemaker and in a stainless steel phin. I ground the beans to a medium coarse consistency, and the result was extraordinary. The full flavor of good coffee, and no masking of the flavorful undertones. My palette easily distinguished the advertised chocolate elements, and the coffee foundation was flawless. The price of these beans, when compared with other offerings of this genre was quite reasonable, and I’m at a bit of a loss as to how the expense of the competition could be justified. If your curiosity is getting the best of you, my first experience with this was amazing. If you like good coffee as much as I do, this would be the logical first step into this realm. Money well spent!

Coffee is bomb but reason for the four stars is because the price...it's pricey

Probably not 100% civet coffee beans
I've had actual civet coffee direct from Vietnam.. which is absolutely amazing and still to this day the single best shot of espresso I've ever had in my life. If normal good quality espresso is an 8 or 9 on a scale of 1 through 10, the civet shot I had was more like a 20. It was amazing, to say the least. This Monkey business coffee has shades of that civet coffee from what I can see. The roast is medium, which leaves somewhat of a sour extraction when it comes to espresso and my equipment. It is low in acidity, which suggests that some percentage of the beans are in fact civet, but what percentage who knows? I wonder if they are mixing it with normal coffee beans, perhaps...I'll update my review based on further testing and/or dialing in the beans, but so far it seems like it's maybe a blend of civet and non-civet coffee beans. Either that or it's simply under roasted / under developed a bit. I wouldn't say it was standout or anything to write home about just yet.Not sure I would order it again, but it's definitely decent coffee when compared to most coffee beans out there; it's fairly well balanced and low in acidity. I'd say it's about on a par with Lavazza organic medium-dark roasted beans, although a touch sour for my taste and its cost.

Worth the price.
Shared this coffee with many of my coworkers and all agreed that it was delicious. I can’t stand black coffee and I drink this black every time, it’s that good. No bitterness.

Pleasantly Surprised! Very smooth, mellow, rich coffee
Bought this on a whim, I remember seeing a discovery channel special on the Kopi Luwak Civet coffee trade and it's rarity and being the most expensive coffee in the world. I think the $30 to $40 price tag is acceptable for what you get. The 8.8 ounce is enough for a couple pots (10 cups each) and even shared some with my co-workers. We all agreed it's a very low acidity, mild smooth coffee but rich flavor at the same time. I think half the fun is watching everyone's first sip unsure of what it's going to taste like! Perfect for a dinner party to start some conversation after you tell them what they are drinking ;) I will definitely get this again for special occasions but probably not as my daily brew due to cost. All in all really liked it.
