I just have to be a little extra cautious when my little one is around as the edges are a little sharp and can result in a cut if rubbed against hard. That being out of the way, everything about this pad is great! It's rock hard and can be used anywhere. The rubber pads stick firmly to the bottom out of the box and keep it steady on slippery surfaces. The top is silver and bottom is black and it can be used from both the sides (at least I've been able to). As it's metal, a plain water wipe is enough to clean it. I'm very happy with this purchase as I use my laptop in the bed most of the time and this helps keep controlling the mouse very easy in the bed.

I wanted it for my apple magic mouse. Saw the other reviews stating that this isn't a suitable match for magic mouse, but I still decided to give it a try for its appearance. Turned out it didn't work just as others said, so that was really on me. I flipped over the pad and used the black rubber side, worked out surprisingly well so I wasn't gonna complain. The only reason why I am writing this is because I literally cut my self the second day because the edge was so sharp.......Not while using it tho, just by accident when I was working on my desk... I'd just recommend be careful, don't think it's a common issue
