Sonar Zen Outdoor Roller Skate Wheels by Riedell Pink

I bought these 5 months ago to get more practice in between going to the rink once a week. I was new to quads, but have been skating on inlines for 6 years. The deciding factor in getting these was that they were half the price of other outdoor wheels for a full set. I didn't really know what I was looking for in a wheel or even if I'd like skating on quads. So I wasn't looking to spend a lot and they have exceeded my expectations.They show minimal signs of wear, they just started getting some small tears in the urethane, and I usually skate on them for a few hours a week. I'd go with a softer wheel, or at least something with a hub if you're mainly going to use them on sidewalks or rougher roads. But the roads and paths around me are really well paved, so they're decent. I like the narrower profile and that they slide a little. However they don't handle well running over rocks or bumps, especially at slow speeds. At this price range though they are good and they've held up!

This is actually my second set of this wheel. I use them for outdoor quad skating, usually on asphalt or other surfaces that may have bumps, rocks, or other imperfections. If you've ever been skating on a rigid wheel that hits even a tiny object and stops dead you can appreciate the fact that these wheels are soft enough to flex and roll right over those objects. These are narrower than the wheels I use for indoor skating, which allows for a little more lateral agility and compensates for the sensation of "drag" ( the wheels tend to stick to the skating surface and can feel sluggish). Since my personal skating style tends to not involve as much lateral agility as I'd like, this is kinda nice since it forces me to use other skills I might avoid in other settings. These wheels have zero slide on asphalt so I can't rely on these wheels for certain types of speed checks or stops. Derby language: don't plow or hockey stop in a parking lot, transition and use your toe stops. Power slides are not the best either.

Great versatile wheels! I currently skate on these both outdoor and at the rink. I just bought my daughter a pair to replace the cheap wheels on her skates. I know they will hold up fine. Word of caution, these are definitely softer than most rink wheels, so if you're looking for speed, this is not what you want. Technically, these are outdoor wheels, but since I'm lazy and don't like to change my wheels everytime I change terrain, I just leave these on. Also, if you're doing t stops outdoors, prepare to buy an extra set or find another way to stop--concrete will eat these up. That's by no means a negative, just FYI. I ordered the pink and they are definitely a fluorescent pink (think loud orangish-pink highlighter), not a hot pink. It almost has a slight, coral tone to it. I'll try to attach pictures, but don't know how well it'll show.

The wheels are actually very great easy to install with my original skate bearings I was kinda expecting free laces according to the pic that was posted by the customer but other than that they are great wheels I will be purchasing more in other colors soon

i havent had the chance to try these yet, so ill come back and change my post when i can. They look like theyre going to be great, but i had some difficulty getting the bearings to fit in them.

So far I like these wheels. I’m replacing the hard crappy wheels my Chicago skates came with. These are soft and seem smooth, but I’ve only tried them around my driveway.

I was disappointed when I ordered these because I didn't see anywhere to choose my own color of wheels. When they arrived I was very happy to see hot pink wheels because that's the color I really wanted! I got lucky on that part. But they were really easy to change out and they're in beautiful shape and I can't wait to rock these hot new wheels outside!

These wheels are softer than my indoor wheels, which is exactly what I needed. I didn't buy bearings to go with them - just popped out my bearings on my inside wheels and used them here.
