SO, as the Viking culture comes more into the limelight, I've become more interested as well as many others. Especially after finding out my DNA results and where some of my family originated, lets say I am 32% Viking ;) is the DNA test true? I don't know, but I'm using as an excuse to embrace it as my own now haha! These beads are very well made, and the actual kit itself comes with a ton of rubber bands, and hair tools which I didn't even realize. You can do way more than just put the beads in your hair with this kit for sure! The only problem I have is the hole for the beads is pretty small, the beads themselves are well sized and easily visible in your hair, but I have some thick hair, and that's not the beads fault but I have to make my braids VERY teeny to be able to get them threaded onto my hair. Which is fine, but I end up having to rebraid or re-do something over and over because its either too much hair or too little and they slip off. The only other issue which isn't a real issue, the provided rubber bands are great but they're huge, in comparison to a pack of the little end rubber bands for hair you get at the store. They have a plastic texture to them, so if you've ever put in a normal rubber band not meant for your hair, in your hair and you try and take it out and all of your hair rips out with it. That's what these rubber bands are like, they worked great for keeping the beads in but I didn't even attempt to remove them I just cut them off.The kit in its entirety is still great and I will definitely be using them as much as possible :D

The beads themselves are amazing quality and very sturdy. You definitely get what you pay for with the beads. The tools however are weak and break easily, thay are also hard to deal with. Also there are no real directions other than pictures to fallow and unless you k ow how to work with hair those are no help at all. I suggest getting better tools and watching videos.

My wife put these in my beard. Turned out pretty cool and I had a lot of fun wearing them. We went out on the Harley to a few restaurants and other places, and everywhere we went, people kind of backed up and let me through....don't know why (6'3", 250lbs with Viking beads in my beard)... The pull tools work well as long as you don't try to pull too much through at once (ouch). Once she got the hang of using the tool, the rest went on easy. Once you get them on you do have to put a rubber band or something below them to keep them from falling off.

Two (2) reasons I gave three (3) stars. First, the instructions are in Chinese only. The print for the instructions is larger than the supposed visual aid graphics, which have pictures smaller than a 3 year old's pinky nail and poor quality graphic.Second, the "rubber band" hair ties are of extremely cheap quality. As in purchase a couple thousand for a $1, cheap. These are the flat, immediately lose elasticity once stretched, rubber bands. Painful to use.Beyond that the beads are great. The hair picks and stays aren't all that necessary for a beard. But for all the issues still a worthwhile purchase. Just google search how to use beard beads and the packaged "tools" become understandable. Then just got to the local CVS, Dollar Store, Walgreens, Walmart, etc. and get a $2 bag of "rubber hand" hair ties. :)

These ornaments worked great for my husband's beard and for my own small braids. I think they'd work perfectly with any braid of about 1/4-inch diameter. The rubber bands in the kit are somewhat larger than needed, and have to go around multiple times. That can be helpful, though, if the braid isn't quite big enough; the band helps grip the ornament to keep it from sliding.
