WEAVERBIRD Aquarium Double Sponge Filter Submersible Foam Bio-Chemical Sponge Filter for Fresh/Salt Water Fish Tank

I regret this purchase and should have returned it immediately as my instincts told me to do. The two major complaints are regarding the two media chambers. First, they are nearly impossible to open. It is a total fight to get the tight fitting lid off while not breaking the delicate plastic in the process. Second, the entire chambers are not held on the piping with any resistance whatsoever. So, they slip off very easily. The item has never actually been used as these issues were discovered while planning to install the filter at which time it was shelved and deemed to be a waste of time and money.

Used this on my 6gal betta tank. It's gonna handle the load no problem. Even with my overstocked mystery snails.The green color seems like it will be too much in the sale photos. But when actually in the tank they blend in nicely.The only criticism I have, and the reason for my reducing by one star is the media cups should be screw on. Not snap on.It is MUCH bigger than you would think. So I would say 5-6 gal would be the minimum size. Otherwise it will take up too much space.

First time owning a stick on sponge filter. I own several free standing sponge filters. Easy to assemble and feels sturdy. Very quiet even with the discharge tube above water level. Only issue I have is that the connection at the bottom of the bio chamber sticks up 3/8" or so. Which means a small layer of bio media will not have water flow but the rest will. Overall I would purchase again
