Vicks BabyRub, Chest Rub Ointment with Soothing Aloe, Eucalyptus, Lavender, and Rosemary, from The Makers of VapoRub, 1.76 oz

Right after my twins had their 1st Birthday one of them got a slight runny nose on a Friday and the next night she woke up with a very stuffy, snotty, runny nose. We didn't have any Vicks Baby Rub, nor had I ever used it. That night my daughter kept waking up all night long crying.Next day when the pharmacy opened my husband went and got some Vicks Baby Rub. I didn't expect it to smell so refreshing since it was for babies but it has a lot of smell, not overwhelming or anything, it is a perfect-soothing smell for sick babies.Her nose seemed to get worse when she was napping or sleeping at night so before her naps and at bedtime I would smear a generous amount on her chest, neck & back. She seemed to calm down when I put this on her so I think she found the scent refreshing & soothing.This rubs in really well too.Since there is not really anything you can give babies, I think this is a MUST HAVE, anything you can do is better than nothing. I also use the Vicks Vaporizor during naps and at night time, it makes a great deal of steam in a very little amount of time.Both my daughters ended up having the same cold so I used the Baby Rub on both of them. They both would calm down after I put this on them.This is a great thing to have on hand so you don't get stuck in the middle of the night w/out any when you have a sick/fussy baby.I think a neat baby shower gift would be the Vicks Vaporizor, Vicks Baby Rub and Vicks Rectal Thermometer and maybe some Tylenol. Most people don't think of registering for things like that(at least I didn't) so they end up having to run out and get these items at the last minute when they have a sick baby.

My daughter lived her first seventeen months of life without even the slightest sniffle of a cold, and then this last February, she got the Sampler Box from the Virus of the Month Club. I had a little blue jar of Baby Rub languishing in the back of one of her drawers in the bathroom, bought LAST year, anticipating Baby's First Cold. This year, that jar got opened, and she got the full-on BabyRub treatment, morning and night, for the second half of February and into March, while she got all the germs flushed out of her system.Now, even though the cold is gone (for now- knock on wood!), she still insists that we rub her "belly jelly" all over her chest before we put on her jammies at night. During diaper changes during the day, she grabs up the jar and points to under her nose, where we always swipe a little bit of the ointment. She's hooked.I don't blame her. The smell is pleasant and soothing. It's milder than the adult version (which shouldn't be used on kids under 2). It seems less greasy, too. Whether it was the placebo effect or something real, we firmly believe that Vicks Baby Rub kept our kid from being as miserable as she could have been during her bout with this winter's colds.I wish they'd make a Baby Rub-scented candle.

I LOVE this Vicks product! The scent is pleasing and calming! It's safe for babies 3 months and older!At the first sign of a cold I rub this on my kids chest, back, and the bottoms of their feet. Not only do they all enjoy the rub down; they like the scent and ask for it when they aren't feeling well. When nursing my youngest I'll rub this on my chest at night time also.As a parent, I notice that when using this product they sleep better and cough less at night; which is half the battle with young kids.

Similar to vaporub, worked well for my baby!

These are perfect and came 3 in a pack. They really help when my 9 month old has a cold, but I also use them for bed time on her chest, back and nose to help sooth her and relax to get ready for bed.

This baby rub is heaven-sent. My little one had been having a cold in and out for sometime, and I was not quite sure what to use until I came across this wonder.I rub it on baby's chest, back and the sole of his feet (cover with socks) when he gets congested and he sleeps like a baby (lol).This stuff is gentle enough and potent for its reason.
