Sturdy and Shady
I bought this umbrella in damaged packaging (so it was very low priced) almost a year ago and it has been fabulous. It shades well and has been blown over several times (closed up but still) and hasn’t shown any signs of breaking. I’m still working on stabilizing it because I live in a place where it gets pretty windy but once that’s resolved it will be perfect.

Great umbrella at a great price
This is exactly what we were looking for to cover our hot tub in the SoCal sun. Yes, it moves a bit in the breeze, but it has not been an issue at all for us. I imagine in a high wind it could be a problem, but isn't every umbrella? I fully recommend this for anyone in the market for one.

Was this a returned item?
The box had some damage but did not appear to affect the inside. It was kind of a pain the butt to put up, especially as the direction sheet was pretty terrible. But it is a nice color and it's here, you know?I put it together last night and came out this morning to try to sit under it but I tried to put it up for the FIRST time and the plastic ring that keeps the pole upright (as opposed to offset) completely tore through. So it's performing maybe half of it's intended function.I was unable to contact the company directly, but if I don't receive at least a partial refund, I'll be returning it for something of better quality. When I pay full price, I expect a new item but the way this was packaged and taped up I suspect it was a return, possibly with the same issues I noticed.

Great shade, questionable design choices
The umbrella was really easy to assemble, and has held up well (folded up) to some strong winds. I weighted it down with 4 square plastic bases filled with sand, so about 180lbs total, which is working great to keep it grounded. I like having the option to have the umbrella flat or tilted (as in the picture) so you can get the most shade based on the angle of the sun.My only real gripe so far after about 8 months is what others have mentioned: there is a small plastic sheath that holds the boom arm I'm place. It is subject to a lot of pressure and so split open. I've temporarily had to fix with zip ties before I can come up with a more durable option. This part should either be much stronger and reinforced plastic, rubber-coated metal or should be replaced by a pin mechanism to hold the boom arm in place rather than a sheath, or some other design.Another thing I noticed recently is a that water can accumulate inside the crank handle, so I'm curious how this will affect the longevity of the crank.Ultimately, there are workarounds and fixes but it is annoying. Overall, though, I think this umbrella is a good buy, and a great price.

The locking system breaks within days
The product generally works well and looks good. However they heavily cheapened in the locking mechanism that slides on the arm. It's really cheaply made, which is a disappointment considering the rest of it works well, and cheapening out on such a small piece but essential is a bummer. I bought two and both broke within days.I fixed it by using strong tape many times around the lock slider and that seems to work so far but it looks ugly.

Nice for the price
Left it in box cause I was afraid of the assembly. Decided one day to take a chance and put it together. Super easy install. The issue was the base. It was just a 4 corner metal stand which I did not want to drill down to my patio. My initial reaction was,, it's a crappy cheap set up.. then I researched a little and found a good solution so it's relocatable. I grabbed (4)16×16 or 18×18 pavers and bought (2) 50lb. bags of sand from Lowe's and also purchased one of those sand bag holders specifically for holding down patio furniture. I wrenched the base with a ratchet and socket then slide the tent portion into place. It was that simple. The hard work came from carrying and placing the pavers on each corner of the stand and filling the sand bag. Which by the way was simple as well. So now I have almost 300 pounds of weight holding that thing down and I highly doubt that thing is budging anywhere. Unless there's a hurricane ...haha...I have to mention, there was a slight dent in the main frame upon opening the box. Hopefully that won't affect the main frame and this will last me at least 2 years. I will update my post if anything happens.
