Could not stop turning pages as familiar hymn tunes filled my head. Will I know the next? Loved the short, concise, 'interviews' with the composers. Impressive biblography!!

I thought this book shed a unique light on Hymnals. I had no idea how many women wrote under men's names and never gave a second thought to the fact that many of our most loved hymns were written by women from every walk of life. Great book, Leslie Clay!

What a delightful little collection of biographies! In this collection of women hymn writer stories the reader discovers the context and faith that led to so many of the hymns we know and love today. Though you may want to limit yourself to one a day it is almost impossible to refrain from turning the page to the next and next and next.

Loved this. Quick read but great little reference book. I gave four as gifts to choir director, minister and choir members. These are amazing women who have been lost in our church histories.
