Excellent block
This soldering pad is excellent. After a few months of repeated use involving heating and cooling and being knocked around it finally cracked. It lasted longer than I expected something exposed to such harsh conditions would last. The surface holds up well, and the holes can be used to hold work in place.

Works great for jewelry repair
I needed a soldering surface to repair earrings by silver soldering using a butane torch. This worked well, helping to maintain the overall heat of the repair without damaging the underlying surface. The board has tiny holes which does allow the flame to go through, so be sure and set the soldering board on a brick or metal surface. The holes also help in holding the small wires that I was using in this repair. This is a great surface for small to medium sized jewelry and fits easily in my tool box.

Luckily this is still completely functional, but the edge of the box was crushed and broke the corner.

Its tough
Ive used the Honeycomb soldering block countless times. Its not been Babied or treated with kids gloves, Its been knocked around some. The thing has suprised me with its toughness. Strong little fellow. Nice size and was very nice price also. Best deal out there as far as im concerned. I highly recommend this tough piece of equipment. BTW. the honeycomb holes are approximately 1mm. I use bailing wire for pins to hold down work while being soldered.

My fault though since the dimensions were given. Looks like they heeded people's feedback and upped their shipping game cause mine came fully intact with liberal use of padding.

Remains flat supports well
Liked fact it does not catch fire and have valleys. Good quality. Easy to use supporting pins. But I lose my solder pieces down the honeycomb holes. If you use solder wire in a length or “liquid” solder it would be great.
