Growing Strong in the Seasons of Life

This book/devotional is excellent!! I was given the hardcover in 1986. It first came out 1983. It is soooo insightful and good and funny too. Charles swindoll has another classic. Love it!

Love this author.

Year ago I discovered this book and read a good portion of it but never finished it. I found it to be most encouraging in the times of the cold, rainy season of winter. I thought, after having moved twice in the last three years, that I had given it away. So I bought another copy. As I started to read it, a little voice reminded of the other copy, and I thought, do I really still have it? How could that be? So, I searched my thinned out library, and lo and behold, there was the first copy. Now I can give the newer one to somebody who need spirtual encouragement. The book arrived in excellent condition, fast delivery, and the price was perfect.

I am so fortunate to have found a used hardback copy of this wonderful devotional type book. Winter - stories and quotes - the "season of reverence. Spring - the journey that enjoys a "season of refreshing." Summer - stories to enjoy that are "restful", and fall- stories of nostalgic reflection.The author provides wonderful short stories, Bible quotations, encouragement to "grow stronger and taller as our roots dig deeper in the soft soil along the banks of the river of life". This is a thrilling book - guaranteed to lift your spirits. Give copies to your friends - paperback copies can still be found - this gift to all people written thoughtfully by a practical, joyful, and humble Pastor who can make you laugh, make you think, and make you stronger in faith, is a treasure in my library.

A wonderful read!

This is another great devotional that gets right to the point with a humorous side to it. I think this is a good gift for someone who doesn’t know the Lord.

I was given this book 32 years ago, When was first diagnosed with cancer. I wore the pages out reading it. Bought this copy so I can enjoy it for another 32 years!

Charles Swindoll, is a very eloquent writer and fills the pages with accurate Christian scriptural advice and anecdotes. A heartwarming venture through the seasons of the year with a guiding message that fills the reader with hope.

he writes in such a way anybody can understand what he is writing about. the book i recommend to anybody who wants to be a better person and make a difference.

Very informative love it

Just a very inspiring and well written book that helps you to really take a step back and look at what is truly important in life. Very comforting, helpful and easily broken down into sections! Will refer back to it when I need that inspiration!
