Nice flavour and works well during a long workout.

I've been using this for a couple of years on and off for running and I've noticed a beneficial effect when using it. For shorter runs straight after work I take one of these just before I start to give me a boost, so I don't flag halfway through - they tide me over until I have my evening meal. For longer runs (including half and full Marathons) I've found these help keep me going when my reserves start getting lower. I've only tried this flavour (as I'm a caffeine addict), but it really hits the spot. Packs are easy to open whilst running and the mixture is like a thick sugary goo (may not be to everyone's taste), so always best to have some water to wash it down with. There are smaller pack sizes available in mixed flavours too, so you could try them if you're not sure about the flavours, consistency or benefits. Highly recommended.

It's a pudding in a sachet that makes you go buzz. Perfect for the early hours of the morning during a 24hour bike race, and frankly every other hour. 24 in a box - one an hour is all you need - that and a pit crew who physically pull you off the bike because you've not actually eaten anything else and are looking like you want to start headbutting zombies (sorry - I mean other competitors). Thankfully "da-youf" haven't caught on to these yet, otherwise school corridors would be littered with little plastic sachets (with the letters GU on). Make a change from the little clear bags though I guess.

These are probably the best tasting gels I have used so far, they are also the most effective energy gels I have used when marathon training. Took one out with me on a 16 mile run this morning, vanilla bean flavour. I had some of the gel 5 minutes before and then once every 45 minutes while I was running. The taste is great, they are sweet but not sickly and I feel them kick in almost immediately. The only negative is the price.

These are perfect for having before or during a long run to keep energy up. I like to run in the mornings but I can't get up early enough to give a meal time to settle before a run. These Gu gels are great for this as I can have one then run immediately after, they never give me stomach trouble, and the caffeine gives you a little extra boost. The packets are also leak-proof and easy to tear open while you're on the go if you want to eat one while running. The salted caramel flavor is delicious too which helps!

I find this gel very handy as it is compact enough to fit into pocket, but the main thing is that it supplies a good energy boost. I particularly like the coffee flavour as it is more palatable than some other flavours.

I used to use this all the time but switch to something else as this is a bit sweet over an Ironman. Now i use it for a single gel a race to give the taste buds a treat and change from my gel of choice that i use now. It’s great tasting gel but can be a bit strong to continuously use only this over say an Ironman. Perfect secondary gel.

Ich war auf der Suche nach der richtigen Energieversorgung für den Marathon. Getränke fielen schnell raus, da sie schlecht zu transportieren sind. Gels gibt es wie Sand am Meer, also habe ich mich erstmal lange mit Zusammensetzung und Inhaltsstoffen beschäftigt und bin bei GU gelandet da hier nicht nur einfacher Zucker oder reine Fructose als Kohlehydratquelle dient. Der hier verwendete Kohlehydratemix wirkt länger. Was mir wichtig war: - guter Kohlehydratmix - kein Fruchtgeschmack - erhöhter Salzgehalt (da ich viel Schwitze beim Laufen) - passende Portion GESCHMACK: Ich mag persönlich Fruchtgeschmack bei Gels gar nicht und das schränkt die Auswahl stark ein. Auch deshalb bin ich bei diesem gelandet. Und was soll ich sagen: Es schmeckt wirklich irre gut! Die Konsistenz wird oft als zu dickflüssig rezensiert was ich nicht bestätigen kann. Trotzdem ist es sicher sinnvoll ein paar Schluck nach zu trinken, was im gut organisierten Wettkampf aber kein Problem ist. WIRKUNG: Man merkt die Wirkung nach 3-4 Minuten deutlich, sodass man das Gefühl hat die Energieversorgung ist wieder hergestellt. Ebenso empfinde ich einen Leistungsboost, was aber vielleicht auch Kopfsache sein kann. Allerdings ist ja auch Koffein enthalten, was auch seinen Teil dazu beitragen könnte. Die Wirkung hält ca. 30-45 Minuten an (je nach Verausgabung), somit reicht mir ein Gel ca. 7-10 km. Meistens nehme ich das erste nach 10km , später ggf kürzere Abstände, somit komme ich mit vier Gels gut über die Marathondistanz. Das Gel lässt sich leicht öffnen und braucht wenig Platz. Ich kann es jedem Empfehlen der es für die Langdistanz verwenden möchte und auch die Nase voll von Fruchtgeschmack hat. Unbedingt ausprobieren es schmeckt so gut dass man meinen könnte es wäre eine sehr sehr ungesunde Süßigkeit:-)

Für mich sind die Gels von GU einfach die besten. Super Geschmack und die dickflüssige Konsistenz mag ich einfach.
