Seirus Unisex Neofleece® Extreme Masque¿

I admit I bought this primarily for a party that we dressed up for. It looks awesome if going for a commando or ninja style look. I wore it for several hours and did not feel uncomfortable or have any issues breathing or talking while it was on. It also happened to be pretty cold outside that night and we were outdoors, so I did get to test it in about 40 degree weather, in which it acted great. I did not feel uncomfortably cold on my face at any time while it was on and was only wearing a hat to accompany it as far as face gear goes.I also have a pretty large head, so buying hats and face gear is normally a problem for me as most of them do not fit. Anything that comes OSFA, most definitely does not fit me. I have had other face masks in very similar design to this one, and they barely held on as the Velcro in the back was at its full reach, and the slightest flexing of my neck could pop it off. This face mask (XL size) fit fantastically and I had no problems at all with its size. It fit well around my neck and face without being too tight and the Velcro was nicely secure. I will gladly use this next snow season in my area. As a larger person (over 6', over 250lbs) I am very happy to have something that fits me well, as that is hard to come by. No local stores have anything that even comes close.

So I have a huge head, and I got an X-Large. It is a little small. I walk to school a lot, and it is very cold during the winter. It blocks out the wind, expect for the nose hole. I washed it after my first use to see if it was washable then let it air dry. I would not recommend washing it, as it gathered up a lot of link and stuff and started to get itchy. I soaked it after that and removed all the lint. It was fine after thatSo if you want to clean it, just soak it and air dry.

After about 15-20 years, the small mouth holes on my original mask started to break down and tear. So I bought a new one.This mask works exactly as it is designed to. It keeps my face and bottom half of my ears warm on windy or exceptionally cold days. It is 100% windproof and a million times more effective than other fabrics.It's easy to breathe while wearing this mask.When I wear lighter weight, fabric masks, buffs or balaclavas, my breath often goes straight through the fabric and up to my goggles, fogging them. The neoprene fabric and directional nature of the nose hole on this mask help keep my breath from drifting up into my goggles and fogging them up.I have no trouble with the fit of the XL size mask on my giant 63 cm noggin.Considering how long my first mask lasted, I have zero complaints about the durability and quality of construction of this mask.

I ordered one of these, right before some serious below zero weather, (-40 below F) and couldn't be happier. This mask seriously keeps your face warm during those excessively cold days. I was able to stay out in 40 below temperatures for hours on end with out my face getting cold in the least. I would highly recommend this mask if you have any sports, job, or hobbies that keep you out in the cold for a long time. You'll be happy you bought it. As for the sizes i can only comment on what I bought,(XL) but for normal sized men's heads and larger i would suggest the XL size. The mask has longer Velcro strips that allow for a more precise fit. They allow a larger range of sizing then some masks that I looked at. There is a mild chemical smell to the mask when you first get them. After you wear it several times, and with several washes the smell goes away. You'll be very pleased, with this mask, if you require anything to keep your face warm in severely cold temperatures.

This works for me for hiking. I don't want sun on my face, so I've been using it for that. I just would like a small strip under the nose attachment to go between my nose. Even if I use it for skiing, it would keep my nose warmer, and also keep sun off the underside of my nose from reflection off the snow.Would also prefer the mask to come across the face straighter under the eyes to protect that skin from cold/ sun. If they did, and someone wanted it lower, you could just cut it to size for your face.I am petite, but got the medium to have it cover more area.

There are times where having a face mask is preferrable to a full balaclava. Sometimes you just need the face and neck covered for a short time or when conditions get bad. This mask fits my big head very well and leaves enough breathing room in front to feel comfortable. When I am exerting myself, the small perforations in front are not enough for me to feel like I'm getting enough fresh air, so I drop the front a little bit to allow air from the nose opening to get to my mouth. Not really a knock since I do this for all face masks and even balaclava.I have the  Seirus Innovation Men's Neofleece Scarf Combo  with fleece/neoprene too. That one is a little more comfy, especially around the neck. This one is a little easier to clean--which with these masks you have to do frequently since moisture from your mouth and noise really builds up in the front area.

I have been buying mask products of this brand for over 40 years. Worn all winter, in all conditions I've only managed to actually wear out one. I find that amazing. Just purchased two X-Large Full Face because large just doesn't cut it and immediately made double side Velcro extenders for comfort.
