Fascinating Read
For those looking for an alternative narrative to our general conception of modern history, Brad Olsen has written a magnus opus. This book will appeal to Coast to Coast AM listeners and those who believe that the federal government keeps too many secrets. If half of what Olsen says is true, then we have a revolution tomorrow. However, a free society is incompatible with a government that keeps too many secrets and it is time for disclosure or America will go down the road of authoritarian regimes. Fortunately there is a happy future forecasted by Mr. Olsen in that good must triumph over evil because it is necessary to tap into our better selves to fully engage with the universe. Unless we manage to blow our planet up, the future looks bright.I first heard Brad on Coast to Coast. I frequently buy books written by Coast guests. In the past, I have been a little disappointed in finding out that some of the guests who sounded coherent on the air were kooky on the web. Olsen is the real deal. He covers many of the popular Coast topics and gives an plausible explanation. Take crop circles, for instance. Olsen explains that if a Rapeseed stalk is bent 45 degrees, it will often snap. Stalks within crop circles have been bent 90 degrees without any snapping. He also includes a photo of a crop circle that may contain a readable message. One drawback of the book is the lack of footnotes. I like to check information that I read, and it is hard to do with Brad's book. He has a list of sources in the back and that gives some help. In the chapter on Grand Unified Field Theory, Brad refers to a 2010 TED talk by Randy Powell as the basis for the chapter. Similar notes would have made the book more helpful to me.That said, the book is an accumulation of information about a number of esoteric subjects. For anyone confused about the topics covered in the book - Illuminati, ETs, Area 51, Mars, etc. - Olsen offers plausible explanations. It's something to work with as one does one's own investigations. In his "Karma statement," Olsen said that he looked for "three data points" discussing the same information in compiling his notes. The book reads like a collection of notes. If you are the sort of person who would like to have to time to compile such a book of notes on the topics mentioned here, Olsen has done it for you.As a final note, I find it interesting that Mr. Olsen comes from an atheist family upbringing and was a teenage subscriber to the Skeptical Inquirer as well as an attendee of American Atheist meetings. It's quite a journey from those beginnings to writing an alternative history narrative. I thoughly enjoyed the book and recommend it to those with similar interests.

Entertaining, but lacking.
The book is good read, but the author has some obvious problems with facts and basic science.page 27, "scientists around the world have weighed humans at the moment of death and discovered the human spirit weighs exactly 22 grams." (a verifiable and discredited study. The (discredited) figure by the way is 21 grams.)page 43, It is alleged that Ward Locke combines Einsteins gravitational model with Hermann Weyl's tensor model. With some searching I find that this passage comes from Atlantis Rising #87 page 42 (by C.C. Von Werklaag, if you are really bored, try and find out who C.C. Von Werklaag is.) The first paragraph demonstrates a gross ignorance of science, "Professor Locke confides that sustaining such a system requires a continued energy input of at least 900 kilo amperes, or the transfer of 1020 electrons per second." Wow. thats bad.So there are some obvious problems with the text. Whatever. I was entertained.***Edit: I just finished the book and I am changing to 4 stars with a condition. Before I get to the meat of my argument I want to point out some funny things along the way. on page 54 a v-1 buzz bomb is presented as a Messerschmitt 262. page 162 the picture at the bottom, the searl anti gravity vehicle, "Notice how the searl IGV is very dark on the bottom but bright on top. This indicates massive conversion of Zero point energy,". Actually, I think it indicates the sun is shining down on the vehicle from the top. This is a very funny book. (everything that you google search to cross reference is some kind of mental case or free energy scam.)Now, I have an advanced degree in science and that part of me says this book is pathetic. But when I was a child I grew up feeding on Star Trek, DR WHO, Dungeons and Dragons, books on magic, Leonard Nimoy's "in search of", ... and, as a child I WOULD HAVE CARRIED THIS BOOK EVERYWHERE!Had I received this book as a child my head would have exploded. I would like to say for the budding 12 year old child this could be a gift that inspires him/her to a career of scientific greatness, but I cannot due to some mature themes and disturbing stories that seem delusional and paranoid.

A mind stretching book
I think anyone who reads this book from cover to cover will be changed. I had run across much of this information from other sources, but I have never read such a complete revelation of hidden topics in one place. He basically describes in detail a vast and mind bending plot to take over our planet by hidden forces in our own government, by One World Government operatives, and by extraterrestrial influences. It is something we all need to know about. This is a detailed elaboration of Kennedy's Hidden Society Speech, a few days before he was assassinated. It is a nightmare we are all involved in weather we want to be or not. The real danger we are in comes from our own unawareness of our predicament, as the criminals behind this plot are few in number, but unbelievably well financed. They own the FED, for example. They print the money they need, or steal it, they don't need to earn it. Our minds are glazed over by TV and football, while around us is a hidden world of science fiction technologies, aliens, underground bases, interstellar travel, telepathy and a break away civilization from our own USA. I think Brad Olson has done a great job. Do yourself a favor and read this timely and brilliant book.

A fairly good introduction to a vast topic
The book is divided into three sections, basically, conspiracies, aliens, and what to do about the present situation. This is a fairly comprehensive review of conspiracy and alien theories which contains much of interest but few real novelties. However I found the third part of the book rather uninteresting and skimmed it. I noticed a few factual and conceptual errors in the text and I felt at times that the author should have done his research a little more closely. Neverthless, this is a vast topic and for those wishing to explore it FUTURE ESOTERIC is a fairly good introduction. I should add that the question as to whether conspiracy and alien theory is true, or to what extent it is true, is a very large discussion, although there is clearly a considerable discrepancy between 'official' and 'unoffocial' reality. In summary, worth a read for the first two sections in particular, although others may find the third section useful.
