Sage Living: Decorate for the Life You Want

Design for everyday living.
If you are tired of design books that show case homes of wealthy people who pay trendy designers to decorate their houses with custom made pieces, than Sage Living is the book for you. Anne Sage visits and talks to people who are living meaningful lives whose houses reflect the choices they have made. The author shows us how deign does not require spending large sums of money. More important is knowing what you like, trusting your insticts, and knowing what will enhance your house.. This comes across beatifully in the wonderful photographs that make this book a work of art.Sage Living is a great addition to anyone's design library.

Share this book with all your friends!
I love this design book! If you are truly interested in making your home stylish and your own this is the book for you. Unlike other design books Anne Sage's message is that home can be your source of real happiness. Design the home for the life that you want! This book is not only beautiful but really fun to read. It's my go to holiday gift this year. We all want to live our happiest life and why not start at home. I can't wait to gift this book to my friends and family.

Disappointed. The thesis is ambitious and compelling
Disappointed. The thesis is ambitious and compelling, but that is where the suspense ends. The Chapter titles lead the reader on to expect that the chapter actually reflects the title. Not so. Lots of flowery writing that most often excludes the very rooms or objects that the writing describes. The author uses numerous shots of the same room again and again rather than a new angle or another room entirely. Lastly, most of the homes follow the current bohemian white walls/tribal textiles trend. Nothing new here. Reminds me of my budget apartments from my early 20s. An editing disaster. Save your money and buy a book by an actual designer.

Lovely pictures, frustrating prose.
Beautiful book. Inspiring rooms. I love design books, especially those that show attainable design with real people as subjects.Sage's prose is maddening, however. It's syntax is so flowery it's distracting. It reads more like she is selling a product with her hyperbole than describing specifics in the homes. An editor should take the fall here. She ends sentences with prepositions, misplaces modifiers, etc. Or, like on pg 81, there is a bowl described that is not visible in the layout. I would have also liked to have more pictures even if that meant fewer featured homes to get a more intimate look at these spaces.Overall, I am glad I bought this book, appreciate the cheerful, clean aesthetic, but felt increasingly annoyed at the prose.

I absolutely love the inspired stories that Anne Sage shares in her ...
What a simple, and yet profound idea - decorating your space for the life you want, instead of the life you have. I absolutely love the inspired stories that Anne Sage shares in her new book, Sage Living. Unlike any design book you've ever read, Anne has seamlessly woven the elegance and beauty of interior design with inspired stories of personal growth! If you've ever wondered how you could actually manifest the life of your dreams, while acting as if you already have them, buy this book!

Sage is the voice you want in your ear as you get set to remake your home.
Whether you are a professional designer or a novice looking for inspiration, this elegant, beautifully rendered book is a perfect addition to your shelf. As a new home owner, I found the advice practical, easy to access, and most importantly, it got me motivated to decorate. Sage has an incredibly likable voice on the page, the kind of person you want in your ear as you get set to remake your home.

a good idea that misses the mark
I really wanted to like this book, but I have to agree with some of the other reviewers here...it simply misses the mark. A really good idea, decorating and letting your home express the life you want (I'm all for visualization and the power of positive thinking!) - but it left me quite uninspired. And the few words at the end of each story on how to express the vibe you're after did not resonate with me. Some of the stories were interesting but I also agree with another reviewer who found the pictures gray and depressing. A pretty coffee table book it is not.

Worst decorating book I've ever read. Learned nothing. Went into garbage. Don't waste your time or money!
