The Art of The Hunchback of Notre Dame Hardcover – June 13, 1996

This was my first ever transaction with Amazon, a purchase I made as a gift to myself for my birthday. It was prior to receiving the package - a day or two after placing the order - that I decided to check previous customer product feedback, which was at 60:40 negative to positive. You could only imagine the relief of opening the box and beholding the *regular*-sized hardbound before my eyes!The book is almost as good as new, save for very light inward contouring at the top and bottom portions of the jacket. For a late 90s book, it is pristine - well-preserved that made it seem as if it came out "fresh" from a time capsule.Content-wise, I agree in some points made by other clients, but differ in more. The content is well-laid out, the spreads almost too good to be bound in a book as they are frame-worthy. The manuscript isn't as comprehensive as some want it to be; however, reading bits of it (I haven't really dug into it as of this writing), it is apparent that it is not their intent to be a fully informative coffee table book, as it is more an appeal to the nostalgia on the work that went into it - a celebration of the best yet most underrated masterpiece of the Disney Renaissance. A must-have for HoND fans, indeed.

This is the smallest “the art of” book I own now- so cute I love it so much I can carry it around and it’s hard cover thank you so much! Came in good timing and perfect condition!

This book is great. This is my favorite Disney movie and one of my favorite novels so naturally it would be one of my favorite art books. This books is packed full of concept art and a very clear story of development from start to finish. The only improvement I would have liked to see is even more in the write up. I can only really dock half a point since I can't perfectly describe what it is that needs adding too but I just felt like the author could have written more. I also would have like to see maybe a paragraph on the cathedral statuary, which is purely a personal preference. One thing I think they should do is title these books the making of and include a short, 30 minute DVD explaining things like the music, voice actors, etc.. to really make it a complete package.

I saw this book for first time years ago in a school of art and animation, and I remembered it as a good book. When I had the opportunity to buy it I discovered that was not good. It was great.A very complete book. Illustrations, concept art, storyboards, color studies for scenes, designing and creating clothes and settings, impossible perspectives of the cathedral, the town, indoor, outdoor ... it has all.When they made this book really did it with love and dedication, and no reproach. You may like the drawing style more or less, but that will never go out of your mouth is that after buying this book you were discontent. It is a masterpiece in the genre of art books of animated films, but even this book has a few years and there are no new editions of it.I'm sure if you buy it, you would enjoy it.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame Disney film is by far my favorite in their animated lineup- heck, even their live action lineup as well. The dark tones, the corruption, moral and religious struggles, it's got everything you could want. And by far, this film has the most beautiful artwork of arguably any Disney film ever made. The artwork is absolutely stunning, and to see production stills, concept art, story boards, pencil animation, and any an all things in between, is simply breath taking. This is arguably my favorite art book I've ever come across. It's absolutely gorgeous and full to bursting with artwork and the history behind the film. Easily one of the best art books I've ever seen. Whether you're a Disney fan, an art student, or simply an art appreciator, I can 100% recommend this book to you. You will not regret it.

The Big Format of this book really makes you appreciate the work the went behind the scenes of this already beautiful movie. The character design process, the shots of the city. It's a must buy!

If you're a die-hard Disney/art lover, this really is the book for you! Full of history and artwork, this book goes beyond whats expected. I bought a used version, and it was a bid tattered on the borders,but nevertheless in great condition.The edition is huge, and pictures are bright and of great quality. Honestly, this is a fabulous purchase and you wont regret it. I adore mine!

One of my favorite Artbooks to this day is this "Hunchback of Notredame" one, full of beautiful art and amazing spread pages. You won't be dissapointed.Mine came in a really good shape, even it was a second hand one, the only thing, wich I found kinda cute/sad, is that it was signed for a Christmas present in 1996 hehehe.

Beautiful book. Built sturdily. This is different from the newer The Art Of... books as it’s done in portrait instead of landscape but it’s still the authentic product.

文庫本サイズで気軽に読もうするのは要注意。90年代のディズニーの画集にはミニチュアエディションという軽量版があったのですが、オリジナルのアートを無理やり嵌め込んだ書籍となっておりますので、極力買わない方が賢明です。ライオンキングやポカホンタスでも同様です。英語版のレビューでも多数の購入者がコメントされております。　B4サイズのハードカバーはノートルダム大聖堂を見上げた構図が表紙、文庫本サイズの方は聖堂の端で座るカジモドのスケッチが表紙となっております。　本自体はファン必見の充実した内容でした。
