Sony KD-55XG8505 800 Hz TV

Quick response to my emails and questions from the seller. TV was delivered before Estimated Time Arrival. Item fully matches to my expectations, amazing picture quality, sorround sound, voise control. This tv much better than my old SONY 48R553C.

Excellent television and a great price

I bought a Sony Bravia tv (Model: KD-55XG8505) a few months ago for its picture quality and I haven’t been disappointed in that respect. However, I have been extremely disappointed with other aspects of this tv which relate to the operating system functionality with a host of problems manifesting erratically. (1) TV spontaneously turning itself on. On a large number of occasion we would return home after work and find the tv being on. Quite unnerving really! We now make sure to turn the tv off from the mains before going to bed or leaving the house. (2) TV dropping out of the home WIFI and going round on an endless cycle of trying to unsuccessfully reconnect. (3) TV was initially set up and had no problems with all channel signal reception. Around 4 months ago however a range of HD channels have started to pixelate and loosing the signal. I checked the aerial connections and direction and after resetting and retuning the tv, the signal would recover but not for long. I have so far factory reset the tv about 15 times and the tv is only 9 months old. Unfortunately resetting the tv erases all of the user configurations and is a tedious chore to go through and reconfigure. (5) Remote control channel changing button stops functioning and only recovers after restarting (rebooting) the tv. (6) Overall slow response to changing channels or executing other tv functions.I have been in contact with the Sony support team and can say they have in all occasions been very responsive and courteous but the erratic problems I have been experiencing have not been effectively resolved. I have had many smart tv sets during my lifetime and never experienced any problems. This is my first Sony tv, quite expensive in comparison, and is very disappointing to be experiencing these irregular problems.NOTE: The tv was not purchased via Amazon and my review’s intention is to share my personal experience for information purposes only.
