A very distinct style
This is a high-quality coloring book- well put-together, with lots of pictures to color.- Lots of images, printed on one side of the page. Pages are not perforated.- Paper is not the thinnest, but also not very thick. You will definitely need to stick a page behind the one you're working on, if you're using markers.- The binding on this book is excellent. While it is paperback, the cover is quite heavy and reinforced, and the binding is secure. It's possible to open this book up wide without worrying about breaking the spine.- Each page has a white border, with a printed edge (a different color for each chapter)- This is a coloring book drawn by one artist. As such, it has a distinct style. It is obvious that the same artist is responsible for all of these drawings. If you like the style, that's great. If you don't care for the style, or if you like tons of variety in your books, this is probably not for you.- Designs are almost all abstract patterns, and a number of them are mandalas. Again, this is great for those who like to color patterns. Those who prefer recognizable objects and scenes will probably not care for this book.- Organization: This book is organized into chapters, each one dealing with a source of stress in people's lives (finances, health, etc.) Each chapter has a written introduction of several pages. Some people are very into this chapter organization. I don't really care one way or the other. I'm not bothered by it, but I also tend to ignore it. I haven't read the chapter intros, and I have no plans to. I'm just here for the coloring.- Production flaws: for some reason, one of the images in this book is repeated. It appears in two different chapters (and has the color-coded edging for each of the chapters, so it's not like a spare page got bound into mine). That seems kind of odd to me. Did the publisher not notice that they were including the same image twice? Odd. This doesn't detract from my enjoyment of the book, but it is weird.- Difficulty of designs: I think this is an easier coloring book. There aren't tons of tiny spaces, and the art has a sort of airy, bubbly quality to it. There's no need to shade or use any other advanced techniques to make the pictures look good.Overall, I'm happy with this coloring book. At this point, I'm not rushing out to purchase others in the series, because I think the art is very similar in each one, and I've got my fill here. From what I've seen, this is the book in the series that is most focused on abstract patterns. The other books seem to have more pictures of recognizable objects (but again, I think that overall the other books still have more pattern pictures than not). This is a book that won't be for everyone, but if you like the style, it's worth getting.

Another fun addition to the “Color Me” series – 77 Designs printed on one side of page
The media could not be loaded. “Color Me Stress Free” is another fun addition in the "Color Me" coloring book series. Of 77 designs I counted in the book, 17 are what I would categorize as mandalas. The designs in this book are detailed and intricate. Some have small areas to color which may require sharp pencils or pens/markers with ultra-fine points. The book has seven chapters, which include: Disorganization, Relationships, Finances, Work, Health, Time and Travel and Commuting. Each chapter has a lead-in which describes the intent of the designs within. There are color tips at the beginning of the book and there are some fully and some partially colored examples throughout (at the beginning of each chapter. The designs are detailed and some include intricate and small areas to color. This is what I found while looking through and coloring in this book:77 Designs for stress-free coloring - Designs by Angela PorterDesigns are printed on one side of the pagePaper is medium weight, white (with color print on the back of the page), slightly rough and non-perforatedSewn BindingDesigns do not merge into the binding. All designs either have a framing line at the outer edges or have finished edges (such as a mandala.)The book is thick but could be opened to a fairly flat position without breaking the spineAlcohol-based markers bleed through the pageWater-based markers, India ink pens and gel pens leave shadows on the back of the pageColoring pencils, both oil and wax-based, worked well with this paper. I was able to layer the same color for deep pigment. I could layer multiple colors and blend easily using a pencil style blending stick.

my favorite of the "Color Me..." series- more geometrics, mandalas, and repeating patterns
This is a great coloring book.of ALL hand-drawn and scanned designs. There is nothing computer generated here- every image looks as if it were doodled with a marker. Because of this, the lines are not a consistent thickness- some drawings contain a mix of heavy and thin lines, and some images employ a heavier line throughout than others. If you like the look of Zentangling or Zen Doodling, and want a book full of larger-size images to color in, you will love this book.Images are single-sided on a fairly thick paper, so you can color with anything from pencils to markers (as long as you have a sheet underneath just to make sure there's no bleed-through) but personally I like to scan the images I want to color and print them out on Strathmore watercolor paper with my Epson Ink Jet printer. That allows me to re-color favorite images and sort of preserve the coloring book in its blank state. Also, because the book is NOT SPIRAL BOUND, and not easy to keep open without breaking the spine, scan/printing the images allows for easier coloring. As with the other "Color Me..." books, "Color Me Stress-Free" contains everything from nature scenes to mandalas to geometric designs to still lives, but this book is primarily full of geometrics, mandalas, and repeating designs, which I like. Some of the other "Color Me..." books have too many "cutsie" images for me, personally, so the fact that there's only one or two in here makes me happy. The designs are intricate enough to take a decent amount of time to color, but not so detailed that you can't shade different areas for contrast or add some extra doodling, if you like. All in all, this is a great book for those interested in coloring- detailed enough to take more than just a few minutes, but not so detailed and fussy that it will stress you out.

Best range of colouring books for calm, contented, colouring.
I have noticed some colouring books can become rather tedious - especially when the picture goes over two pages!!! What's that all about? These range of books are designed by experienced artists and art therapist and the difference in using them compared to many other colouring books is huge! The book opens easily, is good quality paper, the pictures are on one side and the designs are inspiring and make for a very pleasant and enjoyable colouring experience. I LOVE these books and highly recommend them.

outstanding
What a truly delightful book. This would make a fantastic present. The whole book is beautifully thought out and presented.Paper quality is excellent and I feel sure pens would work well. The designs are printed on one side so any bleed through would not affect the other side. On that subject, each "other side" has a pretty background in pale pastel colours so thought was even put into leaving no blank pages.Worth every single penny.

This is my favourite adult colouring book so far
This is my favourite adult colouring book so far. I love the abstract designs, the mandalas are great and it looks like a lot of care and thought has gone into creating the designs. The designs are printed on one side of the paper only, so there's no danger of colour seepage onto the next design. The paper is of good quality too. Highly recommended.
