Nice sounding speaker.
I purchased 2 of this to accommodate the upstairs and downstairs area. They are just great. I have had no issues with them and they sync to the computer and to mobile devices pretty easily. I use one with my computer to not be tethered to with cables and have it across the room. The other is synced to my mobile devices so I can use them with the speak when I am downstairs cleaning the kitchen and living room. The only thing I have an issue with it is that they only volume control is on the device that is synced to it. Say my mobile phone or computer. I have to use them to increase or decrease the volume. I wish it had a control on the product it self.

When it comes to small speakers there are high end products such as Sound Blaster or Bose and they are not 'cheap' and then there are the less expensive alternatives that may be okay if you are willing to accept the inevitable tradeoffs. For a speaker such as Punkman's which seems to claim the top tier of the low end devices, I expected the tradeoffs to be small or acceptable. Currently, I am not convinced that this is the case mainly because I find it almost painful to listen to it in either of its 3 'modes'. The speaker, by the way, was offered at a significant discount as a 'for review' item. So, let's discuss the Punkman, shall we?The Punkman is a small, mini-soundbar style speaker that can be Bluetooth paired or connected via the 3.5mm port. I am not interested in the wired configuration but I verified that it worked. Bluetooth pairing was quick and easy. The speaker is powered by a 2200mA lithium battery. It can be charged via any standard USB charger (not provided) with a very nice USB cable included. There is also a good 3.5mm audio cable.Operation is very much a one-button affair. Pressing the Power/mode button turns the bar on/off. Tapping it switches between the 3 sound 'modes' and can also place it in Bluetooth pair mode. There are no volume controls and, unlike many small speakers, it does not integrate with a phone's 'phone' functions so you can't pick up the ringing phone by touching 'something' on the speaker. So far, so good. The bar's length of about 12" does produce some stereo separation and the all-black, triangular prism shape is good to look at. However... it's the sound quality that I object to. Everything should be good, according to the specs but, in practice, the 'balanced' mode sounds lifeless with the bass almost completely cut off. The 'super-bass' mode brings in the bass but seems to be hiding everything else behind a thick cotton wall. The 'movie' mode adds some depth to the field but the acutes are dead with the mid range about to slip into a coma so... it's painful. My suggestion to the makers of this product is: go back to the drawing board, find some decent speakers, fix the amplifiers and improve on the English-language version of the manual too. The title of this review is a quote from manual, by the way.________________________________________________I was just notified by vendor that the Punkman's price is now in the $40s. My initial comment that the speaker claims to be in the top tier of low end devices was based on the $70-75 price at the time I posted my review. The new $40's compels me to upgrade my rating from 2 to 3 stars because it's hard to find a really 'good' small and portable speaker for less than $150 so, at $40 it's probably Okay.

Impressive sound from this "sound bar" style Bluetooth speaker
Note: The maker supplied a review sample for evaluation, the opinion of the product is my own personal viewQuite a nice feel and look to this "sound bar" shaped speaker a soft touch finish on most of the case, with a fabric covering the speakers. This is purely for music streaming though no built in microphone, and the controls have been kept to an absolute minimum (just a power on/mode button and reset button)At 27cm long it's not a big speaker - though a bit of weight to it at around 450g it certainly has a quality feel to it tight seams and strong casing material. On the underside are rubber pads for stability and to absorb vibrations, this can also be put on it's side too it's quite stable as it has flat ends. On the back a micro USB port for charging and an Aux 3.5mm jack (Both cables are supplied and they are nicely "flat" ones - the 3.5mm tips are gold plated too) Pairing up the front LED flashes blue/red (just add CET926 mini soundbar) I found the range excellent at over 9 metres clear ling of sight. Inside the unit is a fairly hefty 2200mAh Li-ion Battery it takes about 3.5 hours to charge and I got over 6.5 hours playing at "normal volume levels"There are no controls for track selection or volume it's all done via the phone/tablet or other device, if you are using the 3.5mm input then it auto switches over to this. Unusually there is a "sound mode" option using the power button a quick press cycles through 3 settings with the front LED changing colour...these are:RED: "Neutral/Balanced" - A flat EQ across the sound spectrum with no emphasis on any particular area, this is a good mode if you want to adjust the EQ yourself on the input deviceBLUE: "Surround" - Adds some reverb and acoustic distancing between the speakers give a virtual surround/live effect this works well if you are listening to a live performance or using it plugged into a TVGREEN: "Super Bass" - As the name suggests this gives a meaty boost to the lower end frequencies. Whilst the manual doesn't mention it the higher frequencies also get more emphasis it's a direct sound but not harsh, crisp. What's the sound like in use? This uses 2 x 5W 1.5" speakers and capable of quite a lout output. With any speaker I'm looking not just at how loud it is but if the sound delivers in other areas clarity and detail as well as controlling distortion. For Bluetooth playback the sound was excellent not a drop of distortion and excellent clarity and tonal range (for a speaker this size) One niggle is when using the Aux input be careful not to overdo the volume, some speakers limit the input this doesn't (one areas I'd improve) it's not a huge weakness but don't pump it up to max through the 3.5mm jack. I tested quite a few songs though this on both the wired and wireless and the speaker is one of the better ones I've used in this price range in terms of detail and sound quality even using a high quality PC sound card the speaker responded well to EQ adjustments, though there are obvious limits the bass whilst firm and quite tight won't have the depth of a 2 way larger speaker (it's more around the 40-50Hz range) You will probably need to tweak it depending on what you are listening to, for example classical music requires less bass presence, where as pop and rock benefit from a lift there. Not many places to fault this the sound is good, very nicely made too (I would like a volume control on the speaker) A double thumbs up on this if you just want a nice sounding speaker and don't need to the call functionality this is a one of the stronger choices out there
