Pretty decent device to have if you do not have a smart TV
The first thing I like about this is that it is very compact in size. It is not a very large about the size of the wallet I would say. It is very compact and light so it is very night to travel with. I normally would carry this around in travel so I can have access to netflix and such without needing to worry about my password or accidentally staying logged in. It does use a power brick but it is not too big. I was actually able to plug it into any surge protector without worrying about it being too big and taking up more than one spot. The device has an antenna which I feel is pretty useful. I tried it with and without the antenna and without it it lost a ton of signal. I found it best to just have it pointing up. This already has netflix pre-installed as well as youtube. This does not have the same interface as android per say. It looks more like windows 8 kind of interface but with android applications. This does utilize HDMI in order to connect to the TV and the quality is pretty solid. It runs a bit warm being in a more compact space I feel like. Another thing to note about this device is that the material it is made out of is pretty solid. Short of stepping on it really hard, you will not break it. It does however scratch pretty easily. The back of the device has the HDMI and I think they mislabeled it but says SPDIF which should not be. It is just a normal 3.5 or AUX port in you want to use different sound system. One thing about the interface I did notice is that it seems to be running on an older android system. The reason I say that is because when I go into settings, everything literally looks like android ice cream. It does not hinder any of the applications from what I can tell. It has a USB port as well so you can plug in your multimedia devices and play videos from there. There is also a micro SD card slot on the side. Be careful when trying to find it to plug it in as it is pretty well hidden into the vent grate. You could literally plug it into the vent grate by accident. The remote is pretty basic. It allows the basic controls but I would recommend if you are going to be using it to web browse and game you will need to plug in your own controller or keyboard. I would recommend using the one with the touchpad as it works the best. I tried this with my xbox 360 control and it works pretty well. I was able to emulate a PSP pretty easily on this device which is great. It runs pretty smoothly and basically a small video console. It has the google app store so you can easily download all the application you would normally use on your phone. The 4GB ram runs okay and there is a slight lag but it does work well enough to use and play. Other than that, the remote control provided needs batteries and the box does not come with those so you will need your own AAA batteries. Overall, this android device works pretty well for what you want it to do. It is very compact making it very easy to carry around or even keep organized however make sure you have line of sight as the remote works that way. It does run a bit warm so keep it in the open. The only con I feel is that the mislabel in the SPDIF on the back as well as the micro SD card being a bit hard to see and too blended into the vents so you could possibly push your micro SD card into the device itself.

This device is a disaster
I don't see why anyone would rate this device highly. This has soooo many fundamental problems - here are some of them:1. You can install, run and register Amazon Prime but it fails to actually start any video.2. Silicon Dust HDHomerun app runs so slowly on this it is nonfunctional. Also tried the 3 script versions in Angel TV Lite (which is actually just KODI btw)3. Loading and playing youtube videos is laughably slow. Once a video starts it plays ok after 10-15 seconds.4. Standard Android menus are a disaster. For example on the keyboard input screen you cannot use the arrows to select an item once the preview list appears, instead you must move to the enter button and then select from the preview. This pattern is true throughout this entire TV Box device. Things that are simple on other devices like an Nvidia Shield are difficult or impossible.5. Playing some videos on Angel TV (KODI) can easily have the audio and video become unsynced.6. The home menu system is a disaster. Some APPs can be added to the quick select and some simply never actually appear.7. Menu animations throughout the device are laughably slow. Loading times are slow and not just a little slow but like 80% slower than a 2015 Shield TV.8. The included remote is like clicking on a kindergarden button toy. You press a button and yes you get a thunderous click but like everything else on this device it further slows down your use.For reference and testing I grabbed my original Shield and put it on this TV in the exact same spot as this box connected to the same TV input. ZERO problems and 1000% better.Do yourself a favor and find any device other than this one. To simply say "unpolished" is a VAST understatement. Barely functional.

Gonna have to go back
This android experience is more of an android tablet than of android Tv OS. There is a big difference, especially in navigating. Netflix for example (which DOES NOT do 4K) has no on screen navigation so you don’t know where the cursor is at most of the time and what’s the point of netflix on a tv box with no playback icons/commands on the tv for play/pause, forward, back etc? It literally gives you the option to cast from this box which proves it’s not android tv but some kind of mobile version. So the research and you will find this is the case with ALL android tv boxes on here except the Mi Box S and the Nvidia shield. If what I mentioned matters to you trust me, I’ve spent days going over the options and they all have those remotes with a mouse/clicker mode button which means they’re NOT android tv but instead a mobile version and the mouse/clicker feature is there to make up the slack for where many standard tv os friendly features won’t be since they’re designed for mobile app versions with touch screen navigation... which most televisions DON’T have! The hardware design is nice though and not bad if you’re looking for something reasonably priced to plug usb or micro sd cards into for movie file watching. But the ematic jet stream from Walmart offers that also with similar price and a true android tv experience.

Good, solid, Android box
I always go into reviewing these kinds of devices with some skepticism - but this box came through. It was easy to set up, connected to my WIFI right away, and had several of my most used streaming apps pre-loaded. I connected (easily) to the Google store and bam - this baby was ready to go. I liked that it had support for 4K and HDR without any muss and fuss - and the latest firmware was already on the box when it arrived (you can update it locally, or over the internet from within the interface). The only drawback I saw was that it didn't include 2 AAA batteries for the remote - but fortunately I always have some around. This box is a great KODI box if you need to get one for someone who doesn't want the hassle of trying to figure KODI out and it is just an all-around great streaming box.
