Fairly easy to set up and good signal - very happy!
My Broadband provider ceased operations and Gigaclear installation could be 6 months away, so I needed a temporary internet solution (in rural Glocestershire). I spent £300 on a Netgear Nighthawk M1 modem and puck antenna, with an O2 SIM, but I could only get 2 bars and 3-5 Mbps on a very intermittent basis (worked for a couple of hours then whole days with nothing). A neighbour recommended the Mikrotik LTE6 so I did some online research and decided to throw another £150 at the problem. I paid for fast delivery on Amazon and received the Mikrotik dish in 2 days (from Denmark). Using the same O2 Sim I'm getting a fairly steady 8-12Mbps, which is better than BT broadband out here (2Mbps), or my previous supplier Voneus (6-8Mbps). Gigaclear will give us over 50Mbps, eventually, but Mikrotik is a great solution till we can get that. It was relatively easy to set up. You need a long Ethernet cable plugged into a laptop to log into the Mikrotik and then you have to check out location and direction for the best signal. The antenna is directional so worth spending the time (using Ookla speed tester) to check the signal in every direction before finalising the perfect location/direction. Be aware that you may need to go onto the roof for best signal and you need to mount this to a pole using the clamps provided. Once I realised that I needed to input the APN code for O2 and took it outside it all worked great - more or less 'out of the box'. I was then able to run the ethernet cable direct to my Mesh Router and I had wifi all over the house again at a steady 8-12 Mbps. So I'm really pleased with this device and would definitely recommend if you're in an area of poor broadband/phone signal. However, if what I wrote above sounds like techno-babble to you, then maybe its not the solution for you.
