I had to get something for a quid or two (probably from a well known auction site), but there was nothing that looked at all suitable and, as I am starting to discover, as soon as those three letters “BMW” get into the description for items, the asking price seems to increase exponentially.... However, I am glad I paid the (somewhat extortionate) price for this little bit of silicon rubber. It fits the key really well, came nicely packed, looks great and certainly will protect the back and sides should I drop it or bang it on something. I am hoping I don’t need the manual key, since the cover looks like it may be a pain to get off (guess I will find this out when the battery needs changing). I can always unlock the car using the phone app in an emergency. Is it worth the money? In absolute terms, certainly not. However, in comparison to some other covers I saw, it is a bargain!

I have a BMW i3. When I replaced the batteries in both key fobs, the case halves would not click back together again. I tried adhesives which did not work. BMW apparently, only sell the fobs complete with electronics at a jaw dropping price. This cover solved the problem. I taped the halves together, popped the “Kwmobile” key cover over the fob and job done. The tape is covered and the fobs look like new.

Fits my 2020 I3 fob however I returned it as you only get a rear cover, no clear plastic front which means it won't protect the buttons from dust and water as stated in the marketing materials, it clearly shows placing under running water, if I did that then the key would be wrecked. I have previously bought a similar item from different vendor that did have plastic front. This is an example of poor management from Amazon as they don't monitor the claims made by their suppliers.( and they even made it Amazons choice) Product ok if you want to protect the back from scratches, useless it you want to protect from dust and water

I’m a sucker for protecting a whole variety of my things with a protective case. This case fits snuggly around my BMW i3 key and keeps it safe against scratches and blemishes. The case is robust but can easily be shaped to insert and/or remove the key. I’m very glad I purchased this to help extend the life of my car keys.
