I would recommend this blanket; for Summer weather, but not even for mild SC Winter/Spring temps of 60*.
Highland Feather 50 oz, soft cotton, mulberry silk filled, Super King Comforter: I do Love it Very Much; but I was still cold last night, so I had to add on a light down, 25 oz blanket. I'm always shaving Hot Flashes, so feeling cold was New for Me! It was 60 in the house; so the reviews are now confusing me, because I just couldn't get warm?? I think I'll need two; on each bed, to stay warmer, in colder weather. I am a little disappointed, but will still purchase more. Also; the stock photo is incorrect. This comforter is thin; maybe 1/3 inch thick & not sewn in triangles-(actually in squares) & it can't be Long Strand Mulberry Silk, because by sewing it through- the strands are broken. The Silk hasn't shifted, so far.Lovely, oversized, silky soft cotton cover, with just a beautiful sheen to the obviously high TC material. Lays on the bed & drapes beautifully. Quality; for sure, but not enough mulberry silk inside, for me. ); Do you carry a Winter Weight Silk-Filled Comforter?? Like 80 - 100 ounces?

A good alternative to down for a mild climate
After reading lots of reviews, I bought this to replace an aging down comforter. It's been very comfortable as our nighttime temperatures have dropped from 70 to 40, and I think it will continue to perform well as it gets even colder. It is considerably thinner than the old down comforter but no less warm. It does feel well-made, however, with the silk evenly distributed inside. It smelled slightly of a cleaning product when I took it out of the package, but the smell wasn't offensive and dissipated after a couple of days. (I have a fairly sensitive sense of smell, so I was a bit worried about that.) This is a great choice for fall and winter in the mid-Atlantic, folks farther north might want something heavier.

Get a good night's sleep!
I have always had down comforters, and the last one I bought lasted for 10 years, so I was surprised at how much the prices had gone up. A comparable down comforter to the one I had would have cost over $300, and I just didn't want to pay that much. In my searching, I came across mulberry silk comforters, and though I had never heard of a silk comforter, the price was right, so after a bit of research, I went ahead and bought it. I am sooooo glad I did! It is not all puffy like a down comforter, and it is very thin, so I was skeptical, but I put it in a nice duvet cover and put it on my bed. One of the problems I have had is that I get too hot and throw the covers off, but then I get cold and put the covers back on. With my old down comforter, it took a long time to warm back up, so I had a hard time getting back to sleep, but with the silk comforter, I warmed up within 30 seconds and fell right back to sleep. It's the first night in a long time that I wasn't tossing and turning all night! This comforter is thin, but very dense, and because it is white, I put it in a duvet cover right away so my animals wouldn't get muddy paws on it. It hangs over the side and foot of the bed perfectly - not too much and not too little. I have the comforter, duvet cover, sheets, and a bedspread (for muddy paws), so it is very warm. The description calls this a summer weight comforter, but in the summer I will probably have to use something else because it will be too warm. This was a fantastic purchase! If you have never tried a silk comforter, this would be the one to buy because of the excellent price and quality.

Happy to have converted from Down comforters
After years of sleeping with down comforters I converted about 2 years ago to silk-filled and haven't looked back. Here are some thoughts about this comforter specifically and a comparison of silk vs down. This is a high quality comforter - it is well constructed. At 50 oz, it is definitely warmer and a little heavier than the other silk comforter I own. This is what I wanted though so I would be able to use it through late fall through spring. At the end of the summer /early fall I found it to be a little bit too warm when my bedroom got over 75 degrees. When I opened it up it did smell a bit. I aired it out for 24 hours and put it in the dryer with a dryer sheet, and it was fine after that. The size was exactly as described.Down vs Silk:The silk comforters are definitely thinner and not at all "puffy". With a duvet cover they can look a little flat - they don't fill out the cover as well as down. They are a little heavier than down, which takes a little getting used to. In my opinion they breathe much better than down, and for that reason they are comfortable in a much broader spectrum of temperatures. I used to wake up too hot several times a night (especially in the summer), and don't have that problem any more after converting to silk.

It does feel hard, but not soft to the touch.
I doubt if the filling of the comforter is real silk or some other man made fabrics. It does feel hard, but not soft to the touch.

but it smells like..
Reasonably warm, definitely long staple silk. It had a slight smell when I took it out, but it smells like ... silk, which is great. It's substantially heavier than my tussah silk comforter. I have an 11" deep king sized mattress and this fits well, but no extra overhang down the boxspring (but that is what the bedskirt is for, right). The one thing that keeps this item from being 5 stars is that the corners are ROUNDED and there is no way to attach it to a duvet cover, even if it had corner ties (which it doesn't).

supersized summerweight silk
Got the oversized summer weight king for our king sized pillowtop bed. My husband and I are always hot-I really think it is due to the pillow top mattress-it's just a warm sleep. The size of this duvet is great. Hangs off on my side and his-no issues with the size or not having enough covers. It is indeed thin, but substantial enough to have a little bit of weight. We haven't put a cover on it yet bc I need to find an oversized one, and I'm a slacker:) The fabric is cotton-not the softest, but it is fine against the skin.We are in NY-keep our room at 68 degrees typically. We do still both feel a little warm with this, but much better than our previous down alternative comforter. Would be totally overheating with the regular mid-weight one. Will update when we have used it for a few months. Definitely great quality-just depends on individual comfort levels as to whether or not it will work for you.

I have been using goose down duvets for quiet sometime ...
I have been using goose down duvets for quiet sometime, but once I got this one I've become a big fan of silk duvets. They are extremely light and soft but yet they always keep you warm i.e. you don't feel over heated and that too in Delhi winters. Unlike goose down there is no shifting of the silk inside the cover. Also in goose down duvets yo need to feel too hot at times which is not the case here, you will always feel warm enough but not too hot.
