New 15.6" FHD (1920x1080) LCD Screen Touch Digitizer Assembly For Asus Q551 Q551L Q551LA Q551LB Q551LD Q551LN

My son reported to me that he felt the color of his screen was a bit off, after I powered it on, it was absolutely horrible, it also had a "burned in affect" meaning I could see a faint Chrome window open on the desktop even though Chrome was not enabled.I was able to quickly resolve the "ghost" windows by powering off the laptop for a few hours including disconnecting the battery pack cable (you need to remove the bottom cover to access it) however the discoloration was still very much present. I hooked up his laptop to an external monitor via the laptop's built in HDMI and I didn't notice the discoloration on the external monitor, which tells me the video card is good and that the display is bad.A quick google search for my model gave him this link. Luckily it was shipped via prime so I knew i was protected if I was getting a dud part.The package was in another language, I wont even try to guess (some sort of Chinese, Korean, Japanese) and even though the label said "new" I was worried if I was really getting a new screen and not a refurbished one. After opening the box, if this is a refurbished screen, I'm very very impressed, it looks brand spanking new and was packed extremely well. Lots of bubble wrap, solid pieces of cardboard taped to both sides, it looked professionally done.I was able to follow a quick youtube video for a "like model" version of the laptop I own and with my own computer skill know how, I was able to complete the transplant within 15 minutes.The new screen fits perfectly and after powerup, the colors and brightness returned to normal. Including the ambient sensor was working just fine. I tested the camera to make sure it was working and the resolution checked out (1080p). Also my laptop is a touch screen and the touch response works perfectly.I'm extremely excited this worked as the laptop is a great laptop for my son's middle school work, 5th Gen Core i7, Nvidia GT 940m 2GB, built in dvd rom, 8gb ram, 512gb SSD (upgraded).I saved a boat ton of cash reviving this laptop via the screen purchase. The only thing I dont like or know.. I am unsure of how long I am protected via a warranty. I'm only a day into this, and everything nice I said will go down the toilet if the screen dies in less than 6 months. I'm hoping to stretch the use of this laptop for 3 more years, at which case I will be extremely delighted to have made this purchase.

Nice screen, but touch screen functionality no longer works. Do not buy this replacement screen if you have a 2 in 1 model like I do. I have a laptop/tablet combo, which had a functioning touch screen before I cracked the screen and needed to replace it. I’m going to keep it instead of returning, since I don’t have options due to COVID-19. But please be warned this replacement screen has no touch screen functionality. It’s missing the green strip at the top or bottom (see photos).

The screen arrived quickly and in perfect condition. A more tech-savy friend of mine did the installation and said that it was extremely easy and took next to no time.The touchscreen works perfectly. I was prepared to lose that capability based on some reviews, but had decided that it was worth not spending $1000 on a new laptop that only gets light usage now that I am no longer in college- so I was pleasantly surprised to find that wasn't the case.

Product came in expected time and was extremely well packaged.It was easy to replace and works great!
