Great sound at an affordable price!
A little background before we get started. I was looking to upgrade my 20+ year old TEAC receiver to something with more modern features and streaming capabilities. My initial research led me to purchase a used Marantz NR1606 AVR. It had all the features I wanted at a decent resale price, so I figured I'd go for it. The only problem was..... the sound. Compared to my old TEAC, the Marantz had an empty and soulless sound, like my speakers weren't living up to their potential. I have a pair of Athena F2.2 speakers, a great and full sounding budget pair of speakers I've had for years. The Marantz crippled them, even after running the calibration software and tweaking the EQ and tone controls, my system just sounded hollow......Enter the Arylic S50 Pro+. I had seen some reviews of the A50, but didn't necessarily need the amp section, so the S50 seemed perfect. I could use it to add modern features to my already existing system, or use it as a standalone pre-amp with other separates, which is what I eventually ended up doing. I currently have it running with a Crown XLS 402 powering the Athenas and the sound is powerful, controlled and full. It's cleaner and more articulate than my old TEAC, while maintaining the mid-range/mid-bass that the Marantz completely lacked. Couldn't be happier with the sound. On to the features. The S50 Pro+ is a pretty simple, no-nonsense unit. It has 1 set of RCA ins for hooking up my CD player, an optical in, that I'm using for my TV, line out, and a sub out for adding a powered subwoofer. I'm currently running a VMPS Larger subwoofer powered by a Face audio F1200TS amp....... needless to say, the neighbors are also enjoying it lol. Set up was super easy using my phone and connecting the S50 to my home Wifi network. The remote is simple, but has all the controls you really need. Other than that, the 4Stream app has all of the other controls you need. The built in EQ is great for when you need that extra bass and treble boost when listening at low volumes or for just getting things tuned to your listening room. All around, this is a great streaming option that offers quality features and sound at a price far below anything else in it's class

Stunned by the sound quality.
Never having used a streamer I bought this one to add to the bedroom system (Marantz integrated amp and a pair of Epos Epic 2 speakers). Getting it connected to the wifi took a little effort but I got it connected finally. I use Apple Music and Amazon music so I had to use the iphones airplay function to get music to stream. The first song I sent to the streamer from apple music stunned me with the sound quality. I guess I wasn't actually expecting it to rival CD sound quality but it certainly seems to. The app leaves a lot to be desired though and there is a significant delay between selecting a song and its actually being output from the unit. Overall I am really impressed with the sound. I may get a second one for the office system.

Great little box
Arrived quickly, and did its job. We have a favorite FM radio station, but no reception in our house, and this little box gave us the means to hear it again. Only a few rough edges in the interface, such as not re-starting streaming after power is restored, so you need to dig out the remote and hit one of the preset buttons. Also no feedback from the remote, so hard to tell if a command was received, and just taking some time to happen, or you need to bang the button again. As others have noted, the manual is not really useful. Looks like it was written in some other language and translated badly into English at least. But works as advertised for us.

App keeps freezing
First let's start with the good. With the optical port the sound quality is good. It's compact and has a nice led screen to let you what is playing or the status. It's nice to play via WiFi for better distance. The bad. The app keeps freezing and will not respond for a few minutes. After a bit it will respond but then you have no choice but to force stop and relaunch. They will not support Pandora even though it has Pandora as an option, so any playlists or music you have with them you can't access. The sound quality of the RCA analog ports suck. By far the worst I have ever heard.Bottom line not worth $230 to stream music via WiFi. I have more options and better apps on my smart tv or $40 blue ray player.

Great alternative to Sonos at half the price!
I have this model and the smaller S10 and I would say this one is worth the extra money for sure. Sound quality is fantastic, build quality is great, design is great! This thing has 2 inputs! So you could have a turntable and cd player connected without having to go back and fourth (the $449 Sonos port only has 1) This also has bluetooth which the sonos port does not. Wifi connection has been solid, even if this gets unplugged it connects back every time within a minute. The only thing I would like too see on the next model would be airplay 2!
