womens Firm Control Shapewear Wyob Slip

I've lost a bit of weight. This holds in the extra skin and smooths it well under dresses!

My Amazon account stated that "based" on previous orders that a "Med" should fit...it was wrong. I had no problems AT ALL with the return. EXCELLENT customer service :)

I have a collection of sweater dresses that don't look as sleek and flattering as they use to. I figure I could start doing 100 crunches a day or get a body shaper. I like this slip version much better than the biker short version. It's relatively comfortable. Very flattering (dare I say sexy even). And, it works. It gives me the nice smooth lines of my youth.

I was really hoping to get a shapewear that did not ride up. The texture and material feels good against your body but it rides up with every step.

This shaper is amazing. I used to wear corsets under dresses, but with this shapewear slip, I don't need to. I like the silicone band, it keeps the slip on my legs, instead of riding up.

I have a many issues with this slip. I was SO excited to get it since I like other Maidenform shapewear but...this was a serious disappointment. 1) I bought this slip in an XL because that's what I wear in other Maidenform Flexees shapewear and this listing had no sizing information to indicate that this slip is sized differently from the other Maidenform products. However, it was too small. In fact, it was so 'too small' that I couldn't even get it over my thighs, much less my hips and tummy. Sizing down in shapewear can be a good thing if you want extra control but that was not the case here, which brings me to my next point: 2) The quality seems waaaaay off. The material is silky and very thin, like a standard not-shapewear slip. Then the shoulder area is made out of a kind of foamy material (think wetsuits) that was unfinished along the back and shoulders (see pictures). Now, I understand that this material isn't going to fray so top-stitching isn't really required, but it made the whole slip seem very fragile. There are ways of making shapewear "no-line" without compromising the integrity of the garment, but this felt like I was going to rip it if I fought to get it on my body. And, let's face it--getting into shapewear can be a rough process. If this "firm control" slip can't survive that process, then what good is it? Also, this slip has a crotch/panty area underneath the slip that has hook-and-eye closures. This whole area is made out mesh that is so thin it felt impossible *not* to rip. (Again, see pictures.) 3) When something is described as "firm control" I have certain expectations, especially if I have bought, used, and loved other products in the same line that are "firm control". But this slip...no. It's stretchy, and--if I had managed to get it over my butt without ripping it apart--I'm sure it would have been form fitting, but that was the only real indication that this product is *shapewear* and not just a regular, plain slip. I can't see how this is "firm control" for anyone. It's light, everyday wear for people that don't want much help "shaping" all of their bits. If I was a much smaller woman that needed a light, form fitting slip and I didn't mind dealing with hook-and-eye closures on a fragile mesh panty every time I had to pee, then I would probably feel better about this product. But as it is, I am not that woman so the item is all packed up and waiting to be returned. To end on a positive note: The lace around the bust opening is pretty and the slip does have a ring of silicone around the bottom to keep it from riding up.
