Great soap!
I'm so glad I stumbled upon this soap. I have perioral dermatitis and can not use anything with SLS or fragrances in it so this soap has been great! It does dry my face a bit so I have use lotion but other than that I love it.

Clean, pure, and simple
Just stepped out of the shower after using this soap for the first time. I was impressed by how well it lathered - you get lots of suds really quickly, and don't need to use tons of the product. I love baking soda because it has so many uses, so I was curious to try this soap. Upon taking it out of the package, I smelled it and was pleased to find that I could detect the light, clean scent of baking soda - but not in an overpowering way. It has no unnecessary dyes or additives, isn't tested on animals, and is suitable for sensitive skin. Right now, my skin feels clean and smells good, in a plain way (which is a refreshing change - I often use scented soaps, but it's nice to try something different).I would say this is an excellent option for people who are allergic to most products, don't like the artificial smells of most soaps, or just want something that incorporates baking soda. If you're picky about smells, this soap won't disappoint. Also worth noting, coconut oil is listed as one of the ingredients. If you suffer from dry skin, be it chronically or due to the winter cold, coconut oil is a natural, healthful, and highly effective product. Having it in the soap will keep skin soft and smooth. And never fear, you will NOT smell like a "grandpa" after using it! Just good and clean.

Count me out.
I first bought this soap while pregnant with my son more than a year ago. I specifically bought it because of its few, mild ingredients. I've bought it happily since.I ran out of my old bars a few weeks ago. I asked my husband to hand me a new bar. He did so, and I was dismayed to see it now came in a plastic sleeve. Not only does that sleeve mean more waste, that kind of change often indicates others have been made.I checked the box post-shower and, sure enough, the ingredients had changed. From "coconut oil, palm oil, purified water, vegetable glycerin and baking soda" at my last purchase, the ingredients list now read "Sodium palmate, sodium cocoate (or) sodium palm kernelate, water, glycerin, sodium bicarbonate, ethylhexyl hydroxystearate, sodium chloride, sodium gluconate, pumice and titanium dioxide." There was also a new warning: "Avoid contact with the eyes." Unfortunately, I'd already felt its burn in my eyes in the lag time between holding the new bar and reading the box.Wouldn't you know, though? The handy-dandy, old-timey story about how the soap was originally created wasn't changed a word! Who cares if it's not actually that soap anymore?Me, it turns out. I won't be buying this soap again. I want clean, simple soap, not chemicals prettied up by a fun old story about a soap that doesn't exist anymore.

Grandpa's Baking Soda Soap
Good sized bar and very mild soap. No scent what so ever and rinses clean. If you like natural ingredients and a unscented soap that wont irritate your skin this would be a good one to try. Usual Grandpa's high quality doesnt hurt. Long lasting too.
