Jigsaw Puzzle

This is not a puzzle for rookies or for children. When you get to 1000 piece puzzles they are a lot more tough than a 500. I have a lot of experience with puzzles. I will have about 30 hours invested. The edge pieces are put together by shape as a lot of this puzzle is. It is easy to put the wrong edge pieces together. If you put together puzzles for a challenge, this one is it. If for pleasure, choose another.

I am so mad about this puzzle. I bought this to do with my kids bc I love jigsaw puzzles and they love space, but it was a total let down on many factors.First thing, when you open the box to go through the pieces, there are very few that have been fully cut or detached from the surrounding pieces. Don’t get excited about starting your puzzle right away because you are going to be spending a ton of time separating the pieces.Second, these pieces are very flimsy and thin. I feel like I’ve been duped into buying a faux puzzle on Canal St.Third- and this angers me the most because I’m trying to do this with my young COLOR BLIND kids, is that many of the incorrect pieces will fit together. The only way to know that the piece is wrong is because the colors or patterns don’t match up. So now, while playing this flimsy puzzle that took too long to separate, I have to constantly tell my kids that the piece that fits perfectly in to the piece next to it is actually not a match because the piece on the left is more of a teal color where the piece on the right is more aqua. Sucks the fun right out.

I bought it as a present for my son (he is 16 and all he wants is to be an Astronaut). He was so happy to get it so we started assembling the moment we unpacked it. I found myself sitting at night, working on this puzzle by myself and I have to say - time flew by. It was really something I never did before.It took us about a week time to finish it. There were some difficult patches but the finished puzzle is really great. We had an amazing time sitting together, talking, looking for the next piece - something I craved for. Covid had us stay at home with kids much longer than we thought it would, and this killed some time for us :) It's more challenging than we thought it would be due to the black part of the puzzle. A bit flimsy compared to other puzzles we've had done, but it's mostly ok.

Wow! That was a difficult puzzle but so rewarding - the final picture is so beautiful.The picture, unlike most of the other solar system puzzles out there, really captures the actual solar system order and proportions. (given the point of view chosen).This puzzle is truly a frameable one.Oh, and the HUGE poster that comes with the puzzle is really cool and full of interesting facts - love the idea. I wish there were more of these though.I ordered the other puzzle in the trilogy too. Can't wait actually!

I’m loving this puzzle and I would have given it 5 stars except that now that I’m down to only the black pieces it is very difficult to place them. It will just take me longer to finish this puzzle but generally I’m impressed with the quality and the picture.

Colorful and challenging puzzle. For me, it was all fun and games until all the remaining pieces were black. I worked on this alone and it would have been way more fun with a helper, but at least I got it 95% completed before my patience ended it went back in the box. It’s the only puzzle I’ve ever bought that included a disclaimer for possible missing pieces and the only puzzle that actually had a missing piece. But I have two cats so it’s possible they’re to blame. Great puzzle if you like a challenge or can work on it with a partner.

Good puzzle. Tough with all the black but if you look closely with enough light you can see subtle differences in black shades and faint stars. Use the photo I attached to see where certain pieces go if you are struggling.
