Outstanding .!
The characters were highly engaging and kept me invested in the storyline. I found myself hating some and applauding others. I loved and admired the courage and determination of Jess to right the wrongs and get to the truth. I found myself hating Hades and his crew of villains. The action was fast paced and carried you along from one twist to another. I can't wait to read more by this author and would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good mystery, thriller, or suspense novel.

Pretty good book
Wages of Sin was pretty good. There were a few sections that dragged along, but the three stories kept my interest overall. There was one thing I did not like - a story line was started about an old friend visiting from London who had an ulterior motive for the visit. The author gave enough information to peak my interest and then just dropped it with no other mention through the rest of the story. There were quite a few typos which were a bit distracting as well.

An excellent book!
Even though this book was written as a story in England, I could identify the problems private investigators have with regular police officers. It was a well written book and hard to put down. Very realistic in terms of formal police procedures involving evidence versus contaminating a crime scene. An excellent book!

Wonderful reading 📚
Due to eye issues Alexa reads to me, three very very will written different romantic, thriller, mystery novels that are the beginning to three series. The characters are interesting and will developed. The story lines are each different, complicated, fast moving, and violent racing to the conclusions. I would recommend this box 📦set to readers of mysteries. Enjoy reading 🔰2021 👑👔👗

Entertaining
One must remember these are not a form of reality, but stories meant to entertain. The reality of the investigations are a stretch. Not similar to actual police , or private investigation, and the cooperationbetween the two would be unlikely.

A Crime Suspense Bundle Not To be Missed.
A great way to be introduced to these interesting characters and the stories which surround them. The protagonists are relatable and the antagonists deplorable. What is not to like. Well worth the reading.

Okay, not great
This is a collection of three books in a series about a pair of private investigators and their interaction with police investigating the same events. Some action and suspense, some interpersonal dynamics. Not a detailed procedural drama though

Thank god it was free - what a load of rubbish!
I cannot stress enough how bad this book was!! Considering the author lives in Southend, where the book is based, he doesn't seem to have even a tiny bit of an insight into the reality of criminals in the area! Its really badly written, repetitive (non) descriptions, really poor plot and totally unbelievable characters - a murdering, violent, thug of a loan shark, who never swears once....... really!!!! Do yourselves a favour and read good crime fiction books, like Peter James, Joy Ellis, Helen Durrant and Faith Martin...... this is a very very poor attempt at 'crime' writing! I downloaded all three books, but shan't bother with the second two, the first one was so frustratingly bad the others will only wind me up!

The books consist of the first book of three different series involving the same characters.
I was sent a link to get this book from Amazon I have not been an avid book reader due to time & family constraints but thought I would give it a go. Yes there were a few grammatical errors but this did not worry me. I still enjoyed reading them & they were hard to put down.i assumed it was a three boxed set of one story line and was surprised and unsure what to do at the end of the first book. I didn't know whether to continue reading (assuming it was the next one in series) or to click on the link to see the next book. I had a quick random peek at the characters in the second book & saw they were also Eva & Dan so I continued reading. However, I was still a bit confused why the links were at the end of each book. Now I know!!. Anyway still enjoyed them as they prompted me to start reading again.

Part way through
Some good plotting. Some very poor writing. An attempt at American style crime in Essex! The problem is that it doesn't quite work. It isn't believeable. Why do PIs avoid the police when the violence they experience would help convict the perpetrators? Of course, if the police arrested the heavies, the plot would lose energy.Said heavies don't behave realistically, either; and as far as I can see, the police don't seem to be capable of adding 1+1 and getting to 2.I haven't finished, but the variable quality of the writing means I wanted to get something down before I give up.

Intriguing
Hmm. Perhaps 2 Stars is a bit harsh, but it's hard to genuinely give more on the basis of the first book, and I doubt I'll read more. The bumbling detective duo fumble their way erratically through an essentially ludicrous initial adventure that leaves one wondering how much of the real world the author actually inhabits. Reliant on imagination rather than research and the inherent deficiencies show. Unbelievable characters, motives and plotting that relies too heavily on coincidence to make it worth a higher rating.

Not For Me.
I found this tome to be tedious and repetative , filled with errors. Seems the more of this author we see, the less fussy the books become regarding proof reading. It just isn't good enough !
