Women's Madrid Birko-Flor Sandal,Licorice,36 N EU

I always used to think birks were really unsightly, but I needed a pair of sandals for a trip to Europe with lots of walking around so I was happy when I found a birkenstock design that looked ladylike and clean. I went for the Insignia blue colour and it's exactly like the picture and looks very pretty. I wore these around the house for two nights before taking them for a test-run outside with moderate amounts of walking. Over the course of wearing them 4/5 days outside now, I can begin to feel them breaking in. That, or my feet are getting used to them haha. There are two little things I noticed:1) The arch is a bit high at first, but I can feel them levelling off now.2) The edge of the strap leaves a little red mark/welt/cut on the front of my foot. It hurt for 5 minutes. So I just skipped a day of breaking them in, and today - I didn't even notice it.So far so good!

always had birkenstocks instead of flip flops. they are so comfortable, and even do well after dips in the ocean! I have had red and sand colors before - i purchased these for a great price - but unfortunately don't like the color. It is neither black nor brown - but it is not the fault of the seller as it is just like the picture. I went for a narrow fit instead of medium as it gave more choices, and this worked well as they fitted.

I read the other reviews and ordered smaller size but returned it for my regular size which fit fine. Definitely takes some wearing in on the sole of my feet. Have worn two times for several hours and definitely getting better. First time, they pressed in on my right foot right below ball of my foot, and on the left foot on the outside edge of the sole of my foot. Second time, much better, so I'm assuming they will keep getting better. Very cute on and good for casual shoe.

This is my 4th pair of Madrids, and I feel happier with size 39 (which this is). I've worn a 40, but my feet just like the 39 in this style a bit better. I usually wear women's 10, but tried the 39 when it was an unbelievably low price several years ago, and it's like going barefoot, with support. I work in retail, and wear Birkenstocks every day and never have foot, leg, or back pain. NEVER. Buy this style now--in Louisiana I wear these 10 months out of the year!

I have several birkenstocks so I know the fit

I love the design, but the left doesn't fit properly. The bump is directly under my big toe, but should be between the bit toe and the one next to it. The bumps caused the underside of the toe to get sore. Don't know the cause as the right is perfect.

Great shoes and dry food quality. I never thought they look great but the comfort is really a must .
