I feel bad giving this a 3 star while giving the top 3 questions a 4 star but honestly the it is pretty easy to hold, although I have to be honest I do have to modify it a bit to make it more comfortable to control but I have very little hands so it may not be the same for people with large hands. The handle design is great just a bit bulky for me personally. The value is great with the addition of wood that comes with it and it’s okay friendly for beginners due to the combo pack I’d just suggest something all the way around less bulky in the handle for better control. The reason I give it 3 star is because the blade is more than lacking, especially on the scooper knife. The knives are extremely dull and are not sharpened to hold an edge because they were not edged to begin with to hold a sharpened blade so I have to have this done. There just is no sharpening to it it comes dull (every one of the knives) and as it has no shaped edge to sharpen an every day person without knowledge of creating the proper angle that will take and hold a sharpening will be disappointed

The Sloyd blade has shifted inside of the knife handle and no longer sits parallel with the handle. This happened after one session with the knife. I'm a total beginner and this was my first time trying to carve wood so I most likely applied to much force while using the knife. The blades are sharp but due to the Sloyd knife's blade shifting in the handle, I think I'm going to try buy a different set.

These tools are sharp!! Definitely wear gloves, also maybe get a mat to put over your legs, like a piece of leather or thick cloth that won’t allow you to cut through it.

Bought this for my under 10 grandson who is very much into woodworking. However, the instruments were too sharp and since we had opened and started carving could not return it. Disappointing.

I'm new to wood carving. The knives hold a good edge and fit great in my hand, easy to control. I would recommend this kit to anyone starting out like me.
