A must-have staple for my 10-gallon betta tank
These are great for my 10-gallon betta tank! I've ordered these 3 times in the past 6 months or so. I didn't use them to adjust the pH. I live in an area where the water is already pretty soft and alkaline, so I was a bit worried these would affect pH levels in a bad way, but they didn't. My betta has battled fin rot since I rescued him from the pet store, and despite everything I've tried to keep his water pristine or ensure smooth surfaces in the tank, nothing seems to help his fins to grow back. I don't think he's in danger of dying because he seems pretty happy, has a hearty appetite, and is very social with me. I've narrowed the problem now down to diet (I'm working on that to hopefully get him some live foods for good quality protein) and stress (we've handled a move that required two tank moves plus ongoing construction at my new place). These leaves do fall apart eventually and can make a mess, so I take them out after 2-3 weeks, but my gravel vac habits and filter clear the water pretty quickly of any debris or cloudiness. I do not notice any severe brown staining. An electrician at my new apartment remarked that my betta tank was the best he's ever seen. If anything, I worry about the shadow these leaves cast over live plants; however, the live plants don't like the full-on exposure to the LED lights in the hood either. My betta loves to blow bubble nests underneath these (he's got the hugest one he's ever made under construction right now). I use them to baffle the filter current, and when I had some ghost shrimp, the ghost shrimp loved munching on them, too. I can't say with any scientific certainty that these make a huge difference, but my feeling and observation is that they certainly do not hurt and provide fish with peaceful spots, shrimp with food, and don't turn my water very brown even though I keep 2-3 leaves in the tank at any given time.

Hermit Approved
My Crabs loved these! It gave them something to forage about with and they nibbled on pieces of the leaves.

Fleas?
I bought these leaves and some food from another brand, and put both in my hermit's tank at the same time. A couple days later there were suddenly fleas everywhere, all up in the tank! Idk WHAT happened, and it could just be some weird coincidence, but I never saw one flea anywhere near there until right after introducing these 2 new products into their habitat. I have cats, and I treat them for fleas... but I've never even seen more than a couple ON the cats in the worst of times! Don't see them outside the tank, just in it, infested in the sand! Would love to know if anyone else had any weird issue with this product, cause I'm confused....However, it most likely has nothing to do with this product. I don't really know what happened. But I will say they add to the ambiance of the tank, and my crabs seemed to like them. Pretty sure there was some snacking going on, since I found them the next day with the edges all gone. And another they fashioned into a canopy. Lol so it gives them some options. And apparently it's safe for them to eat, which I wouldn't trust if I just went and gathered leaves from my yard.

Got my Sad Crab Up and Moving!
We have one hermit crab left. He was very sad it seemed like and in we were planning on getting another crab because they shouldn't really be alone from what I understand, but in the meantime I felt so bad that the poor crab was just there hiding under this wood most of the time, and he wasn't up and moving. I wanted to make sure everyone got something for Christmas so I looked for something different for him or her. I picked these leaves and I'm so glad. For the 1st couple of days maybe almost a week I don't think he interacted with them very much. Butthen once he got a feel for what they are, because they're only in 1 section until we saw how he liked them, but once he got into them he is up and moving and all over these leaves. He really seems to love them - hes tearing them up he is out of his shell and walking around and having a great time so it seems. I mean you can never really tell and he might think they are evil alien invaders. You can't tell what a crab is thinking :) but he certainly seems to be enjoying himself. They are certainly stimulating him and he certainly seems very happy with them. Hes even eating more. I'm so glad we got these because we were really looking for something to add some stimulation for him. He'll get a new friend soon, within the next few days, but this will be something they both can enjoy.I highly recomend giving them a try. This is the best thing I found for my crab. I think this is even better than when I realized there was that really good stuff for the bottom of his cage. And while that certainly keeps him healthier and created an improvement in his quality of life this seems to be occupying him and entertaining him in some crab specific kind of way that he can't tell us about but it certainly seems to be pleasant from his perspective.

Hermit crabs Loved to eat them.
Withing minutes my hermit crabs started munching on these leaves. They love them. If I wasn't so broke I would buy them more. The isopod I also purchases love them too. There's no smell and they are neatly sealed. I love them too, but I don't eat them just for my my pets.

Not a fan
Directions too hard to figure out what to do, even with help line. Easier to get and wash leaves from backyard.
