Great knee scooter/walker
Great knee walker. Easy to assemble. Way to use. Sturdy. I thought the basket was silly.... but that's the best part! The only bad part is you have to watch the turn radius so you don't tip over. But I think that's too be expected with something like this. Padding on knee seat is pretty firm. My knee was sore but I got used to it. Bigger wheels go super easy on rugs and carpet. I used this only in the house, but I'm sure it handles good outside also. This has two emergency brakes that you can set. But you have to squeeze the handle grips really hard to set. This is a quality knee scooter.

Superior knee scooter
The first image is a rental knee scooter; the second is this product. My 6'6" husband needed the stability and smooth ride this product offers. Assembly is simple, but you have to pay attention to where the brake lines are and with lining up all the parts. An air compressor is helpful for inflating the tires as they are purposely underinflated for shipping. The pneumatic tires were so helpful in getting over small barriers, such as sidewalk cracks, the little bumps on concrete ramps, parking lot divots, indoor flooring transitions, getting on/off elevators, pebbles on the concrete, and more; the rental model's hard wheels stopped at every minor obstacle - - which is a real fall risk! He found it too unstable on our landscaping rock to use it in the yard, but solid surfaces were perfect with this little baby. While the height is the same as the rental (with small, hard wheels), the wheel base is somewhat larger and more stable, esp. for a taller person. That said, the wider wheel base made it a little more challenging to get it in the car. The handle bar folds down to make it a bit easier to get into a vehicle, though the catch can be a little tricky at first. He found the knee rest was a little shorter than the rental, but was well padded for comfort. Hand brakes are very effective. Turning radius is a bit wide, but manageable. He found the hard metal basket prohibited him from pulling up close to his desk, so he opted for a tote bag instead. The cost is very reasonable: The rental was $80/mon., this model about $240 (with tax). He was on it for almost 3 mos. and we get to keep it for future use. He had a couple mechanical issues with the first scooter he bought. The company was very responsive and helpful in attempting to mitigate the issues. They ended up replacing the entire scooter, even before we sent back the first one since he had to have it to get around. Great product, great company!

Top of the line
My 6’2”, 330 lb son has been using this for 2 months and loves it. It’s a very sturdy scooter that performs well indoor and outdoor. So far there hasn’t been any terrain where he hasn’t been able to use the scooter. We have to add air to the tires periodically, but otherwise it has held up very well. It folds easily and while a little heavy, I’m still able to get it in and out of the car myself. Even his orthopedic doctor commented on the scooter, asking where we got it and saying it was one of the nicest he’s seen. Make sure you also get a cushion for the knee pad as it is a bit hard and can be uncomfortable without one.

Best knee scooter overall for me
After surgery to reconstruct my foot and ankle, I was going to be in a cast, and unable to put any weight on my affected leg for up to 3 months. I’m in my 70s and don’t have the best greatest strength or balance anymore, so my options during my recovery were wheelchair, crutches, and knee scooter. After researching the various options, I settled on the knee scooter option, specifically the BodyMed All-Terrain knee Walker. I’ve been using it for a month now, and finally feel qualified to be able to give it a fair and balanced review. In summary, I have found it to be the best knee scooter for me. There are pros and cons to consider when you are deciding on YOUR best option. I will address them by features as follows: Design, Construction, and Quality - Pros: • Heavy duty design and construction. • Shipping was fast. • Assembly was easy; pretty much just the knee cushion and handlebars. • Frame, wheels, and brakes are fully assembled at the factory. • Folded, the scooter will fit in the back of most SUVs. • Dual hand brakes on the rear wheels offer exceptionally safe braking. • Brakes have an easy locking mechanism; important safety feature. • Inflatable tires allow safe travel over almost any surface; all-terrain. • The wide wheelbase makes it exceptionally stable. • Detachable basket allows you to carry items up to the size of a laptop. • Designed to accommodate people weighing up to 350 pounds. Note: ALL knee scooters have weight limits. Don’t exceed the limit. Design, Construction, and Quality - Cons: • The handlebar does fold down, but that’s as foldable as it gets. • The safety locking mechanism for the foldable handlebar takes some finger and hand strength to fold and unfold. My wife couldn’t manage it, though I could quite easily. • The scooter weighs 35 pounds; a factor lifting it in and out of a vehicle. • The tires initially need to be inflated; you need an air compressor or tire pump. • Turning radius is quite wide, but that’s a built-in safety consideration. • The wide wheelbase may make some areas of your home inaccessible. Cost considerations: • In some areas, you can rent knee scooters. I found this to be quite expensive over a 3- month period. Purchasing the scooter was a more cost-effective solution, a substantial savings over a rental. • Decide for yourself what YOUR best option might be.

Heavy duty. Great quality for price.
Great scooter, high quality. To those who say the wheels turn too far, I wonder if they put the bolt in that holds the wheels from going completely sideways for compact shipping (see photo) . This bolt allows the wheels to only turn to about a 45 degree angle... The turning radius is quite wide to avoid tipping over. I find the knee pad fairly comfortable, and the build quality is very high. The brakes were a little tight to begin with, even when adjusted to as loose as they'd go, but after a few days were perfect. I think would recommend this model, it appears to be more heavy duty than others available on Amazon. And who doesn't love the cute basket.
