The time strip is a worthless gimmick, after 6 months my time strip from the last one was barely up to below 3 months, so it's not at all accurate. It's much easier to just set a reminder on your calendar, or set up subscribe and save /autoshipping to get one shipped every 6 months. My notch for the time strip in my kitchenaid is vertical not horizontal like some of the other pictures, maybe that's the problem? The filters work fine it seems and so far haven't had to bother with boxes of baking soda like old fridge.

My Fridge always smells fresh even with onions and garlic in it using these filters. I started using these ten years ago but I wanted to save some money. Amazon had some for less than halve what Whirlpool wanted, not authentic. I made a Big Mistake trying to save money and had to live with a smelly fridge. The cheap ones do not work. My Fridge stunk until I got the Whirlpool filters. Make sure that you get authentic replacements. Always buy the authentic Whirlpool products and do not try to save money, you will regret it.

Simple air filter for our Kitchen Aid fridge which fit nicely into the fridge filter slot. The price was excellent, and I could not find the filter for this price. These filters were almost impossible to find in local stores, and were extremely expensive to order from them once I found a store that had a supplier. This filter came in a small bag, and arrived quickly from Amazon. The build quality appeared the same as the filter I removed from my fridge. This filter also came with two "tags" that can be inserted with a fridge "freshener" Fresh Flow suction cup. I didn't need extra, but I will keep them around in the event I need some in the future. The only CON I have is that the plastic packaging around the filter was "cheap" and was not able to be recycled. In 2016, I expect most companies to consider every part of their products and how it affects the life cycle of the materials used. It would be nice if the packaging was recyclable. Conclusion: Easy order for a fridge air filter which is otherwise hard to find. If you need one, save the head ache of calling all the local stores and have it shipped to your home by amazon. Order a few to get free shipping!
