Dainichi Cichlid - Veggie Deluxe Sinking (1.1 Lb) Bag - Small Pellet - 38% Protein

My goldfish (yes... I said goldfish!) LOVE these Dainichi products and all are doing extremely well on them. Even my couple of fish who tend to be floaty do very well, especially on this vegetarian formula. I love the fact that the sinking pellets actually do SINK as they hit the water which makes them very useful in automatic feeders. This is quite unlike other premium brands whose “sinking” pellets tend to float around for several seconds... or MINUTES even, allowing the food to float off somewhere and finally sink in areas that may be inaccessible to the fish. Even worse for goldfish, it encourages the fish to go up to the surface looking for food, which is absolutely NOT what we want, especially in floaty goldfish with balance issues. No “sinking” product I’ve tried from Dainichi ever does this. The color and body condition of my fish are great. They are lean, healthy and growing well. What more could anyone ask for? I feed this product along with the Cichlid Veggie FX, Goldfish Color Max and Goldfish Ultra, all sinking pellets. These comprise a major part of my regular rotation and I have been well pleased with them.One note: the size “small” pellets are ~3.5mm. My fish are large enough to handle them, but if you have very small fish, you might want to go with the “baby” size pellets (or throw them in a spice grinder and give them a quick pulse to reduce them).All told, these are great products! I recommend them to everyone and always mention Dainichi on my fish discussion groups whenever someone asks for a food recommendation.

I've been buying this food at my local fish shop for around $25.99, though that was for the 8oz bag. Very hard to beat this price for the quality of food and quantity that you are receiving as well. I like this food very much, it keeps my mixed cichlid aquarium and plecos very happy. Definitely recommend.

This is a great food for your cichlid. I have tropheus moori and hap moor. They love the food and their coloration is intense. Only thing I suggest is buying the baby sinking, it is a smaller diameter pellet and gives all your cichlids a change to get some food.

Good quality fish food. The customer service was great and the price was good.
