Very well made bow at an unbelieveable price!
My bow came in at 34#, 28" draw and 72" overall height. I am very pleased with the look and strength of the bow. I have just sealed the bow with Minwax clear satin Polyurethane and it looks phenomenal! The longbow now has a darker color than when it arrived. I also put Minwax on the linen side, but with very minimal application. I tried not to get it too soaked. I sanded the bow with 180 grit fine sand blocks. I sanded it very lightly just to get rid of any wood pieces that may have been sticking out. After sanding it lightly, I added the Minwax. I'm going to let it dry for 2 hours, then I will lightly sand and add another coat of the satin Minwax. I can't wait to shoot this bow on the weekend with the 30" cedar wood arrows that I purchased. Great bow so far!

Has some flaws
ok first off this is a cheep (by price and slight quality) unfinished bow and needs some work if you want it to last (waterproof it) mine is 32# @ 28" and 72" tall it pulls smooth and from what i can tell (haven't gotten to the range to shoot yet) will fire at a good speed. i finished it with olive oil (gave a wonderful orange red color) and will add beeswax soon. it does however have one critical flaw. it follows the string really bad i have to unbend it every time i unstring it, this leads me to believe that the stave used to make the bow was not seasoned (dried) properly, i excuse this mistake to the potential holiday rush (it was a christmas present) i doubt this bow will stand up to any serious use and i will be contacting woodbows.com in an attempt to make an exchange (maybe even upgrade to hunting strength)but until i have a non-holiday bow i can't give my full opinion on the company.

Longbow by Woodbows
I love this bow. It comes in rough form, but I've taken the time to make it look like a million bucks. I first took the black electrical tape off of the bow, then sanded it down to a smooth finish. I used a permanent fine tip marker to inscribe my name and of course a verse from King Henry V's St Crispan speech. I then added 4 coats of tru-oil, using steel wool (00) between coats. I will be adding nice leather wrapping to the grip area this weekend. I really suggest using tru-oil on this bow over the other recommendations. Tru-oil can be found at Gander Mountain for sure, and probably other large sporting good stores. I ordered the 55# @ 28 draw bow. This bow is extremely comfortable, and I shoot almost as well as others using target sights. The string is holding up extremely well, probably due to the fact that I applied the bow wax before I started shooting. This is a great bow at a great price and I highly recommend it.

Now that's a long bow!
I own two longbows by Woodbows and my partner has one. Rough and Ready says it all. Nothing fancy it does the job it was made for. We're talking about LONGBOW,two are 6 feet in length and one is 68 inches. Only one caveat. If you want to use it for hunting you better know what you're state's draw weight is,30 to 35 lbs. is not legal for hunting in several states.NO bow is right for beginners but if if you can pull 30 to 35 lbs.this is the bow to start on.

Rough longbow
Its exaclty as the description states: a rough hewn longbow. I gave it a light sanding and a good coating of petroleum jelly. I'll probably give it a leather hand grip as well, it comes with a simple taped grip. You can't beat it for the price!
